For cross racing and off-road exploring

Cyclocross racers demand a lot from their footwear – traction for scrambling up steep slopes, stiffness for short and sharp accelerations, and the durability to withstand post-race hose downs. The Rapha Cross Shoe, produced in collaboration with Giro of California, has been constructed with these challenges in mind.

The sole is Giro’s race-worthy carbon EC90, complemented by dual-compound treads for grip when running with the bike – there are two holes for screw-in studs for the muddiest terrains. The upper consists of a robust synthetic leather, capped with an abrasion-resistant rubber at the front and back, all secured by two hook-and-loop fasteners and the same machined aluminium buckle found on Rapha GT Shoes.

The insole makes use of Giro’s SuperNatural™ fit system, and is supplied with a number of cork insteps to fine-tune the footbed. Rapha Cross Shoes are compatible with any two-bolt cleat system.

NB: Please only try the shoes on a carpeted surface without cleats, as we are unable to accept returns with scratched or scuffed soles, thank you.

Please note: Gift wrap is not available on this item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stiff shoe with SPD benefits I ride in and out of the city so road shoes are pointlesss but finding a SPD shoe that has a hard, carbon sole has been almost impossible. This shoe gives you that perfect combination with the addition of different size insoles, quality leather and styling. Due to the limited holes for air to flow I would consider an alternative for summer / hot climates (it's a cx shoe after all!). Also, the depth of grip can initially make the SPD connection a little tight. Otherwise, great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super comfortable and amazing quality I needed a cycling shoe that I could walk in as well, I'm so glad I bought these rather than the road versions. Not only do they look great but they are light and very stiff. Expensive but worth it, treat yourself, you won't regret it. They are premium quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stiff and stylish It works great in both good and bad weather and in a big spann of temperatures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality, note the size though I've already got some Giro shoes, so I had an idea about the fit already. I would advise that these suit the narrower foot. The dipped section around the ankle seems a bit higher than my other Giro shoes. Whether this is a deliberate design feature or a slightly lower heel height of the insole I'm not sure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expensive but does a very good job Good but expensive. It is a very solid shoe, perhaps a little stiff when walking - but otherwise I cannot fault it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth MTB/cyclox shoe Bought it after having my MTB shoe replaced after 10yrs Heavy use. Use 42,5EUR in other brands and was recommended going up up to 1 Whole size, but after trying in a Rapha clubhouse I went for my normal 42,5. Fits like a glove. Lokks smashing and feels very good almost instantly on the foot. Use it for trail/enduro/MTB so the use is on the Heavy side for what its intended for, but after my first runs it seems very good indeed.

Great shoes but even after 6 months of use I find they still rub against spd pedals. This reduces the play and has led to some knee symptoms. Are there any other cleats that I can use that would allow more free movement? Would speedplay frogs work?

Asked by: Martin63
Speedplay Cleats can work on our shoes. Our shoes will fit any two bolt cleat system.

Hi i was just wondering can you use over shoes with these for say bad weather commuting?

Asked by: Wiggins1234
Hi, our overshoes are designed for use with road cleats. However, they will usually work with other cleats and would be ideal for bad weather commuting.

Hello, I wear a 44 in the GT shoe and it's a solid for with some room.  Would you say I would consider the same size in the cross shoe?  Would plan to wear a heavier sock in this shoe at times, which I can do in the GT.

Asked by: Jake F
Hi, we would recommend you order the same size in both these pairs of shoes.

Hi I read a review that said it was hard to fit the spd cleat to the shoe, do I need to fit shims etc, is there a technique to fitting this shoe with spd cleat?

Asked by: Mack
Hi, you do not need any shims to fit an spd cleat to these shoes and there is not a particular technique.

Can we assume the shoes only accept SPD cleats? I'd love to use them for commuting but my assault course involves railways and homicidal drivers - I would love to fit Speedplay to these but I'm guessing the side tread excludes such fittings?

Asked by: MTurn
Hi, the Cross Shoe has a two bolt design. It will not take road cleats, including speedplay but will fit the MTB/cross Speedplay cleat.
