      The same award winning quality, with added warmth

      Featuring the same cut, matte black finish and deluxe chamois pad as Rapha’s Classic Bib Shorts, the winter version have a Superroubaix® Endurance fabric inner for luxuriant warmth on skin.

      For added comfort in the saddle, Rapha's bib shorts have a supremely padded chamois insert, flatlock stitching throughout to prevent chafing and are finished with soft gripper around the legs. The shorts also have a small key pocket on the rear upper.

      Rated 5 out of 5 by from Work well in cold/ freezing temps Use these with merino leg warmers instead of tights - warm enough, fit better than tights and when it gets really cold (down to -10C) I use deep winter socks (which go to knee) and that is enough for me for an hour on the bike. Fit is tighter than classic bib.

Medium fits perfectly, though the Pro Team thermal bibs are a bit longer in the leg and thus incrementally favored for me. These feel perhaps a touch more luxurious than the Pro Teams. I've worn them with leg warmers down to -8C and have been comfortable for a 45 minute commute (tights were in the laundry!).

      Which is warmer, classic or pro thermal bibs?

      Both Bibs use the same Roubaix fabric. The difference lies in the fit of the Bib Shorts as the Pro Team are a tighter, more streamlined cut for racing and training at high intensity, whereas the Classic Bib Shorts are designed for all day in the saddle comfort

      Hi, the Classics Guarantee was designed to offer a chance to ride-test classic items that helped to establish the Rapha brand. This is four of our original items, the Classic Bib shorts, Jersey, Wind jacket and Winter Tights.

      At what temperature ranges do suggest reaching for these thermals over standard classic bibs?

      Hi, it always difficult to give exact temperatures as it will depend on your own temperature regulation and exertion level. However, we would recommend using the thermal bibs from temperatures around 10-12 degrees celsius and below. I hope that helps.

      What level of waterproofing do these shorts have? Being in Scotland you have to deal with significant rainfall and past shorts/tights have became waterlogged.

      Hi Nate. We suggest sizing up. But we do have a 90 day return period should you wish to exchange then for the smaller size.
