    Simon launched Rapha in 2004 in response to the lack of high quality clothing and creative brands available to road cyclists at the time. Before founding Rapha, Simon spent fifteen years as a branding and marketing consultant, advising leading brands all over the world. He is also a qualified chartered accountant.

    Favourite Ride:

    Of all the places he has ridden, Mont Ventoux in Provence is still Simon’s favourite cycling destination: “a beautiful mountain in my favourite part of the world – it has everything: racing history, culture, beauty and it’s a tough climb that I never seem to conquer completely.”

    Favourite Bike:

    Explorateur steel travel bike. “It gives me uncompromising riding performance wherever I travel in the world.”


    Following a 14-year career with Procter & Gamble, Sarah Clark joined Rapha to head up the sales and marketing team in the Asia Pacific region based in Singapore. Within a year and a half, she had become Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), returning to London to take up the role. Sarah’s responsibilities as CMO include directing Rapha’s global and regional brand development and marketing programmes, as well as the global customer service team.

    Favourite Ride:

    A strong amateur racer, Sarah is an advocate of cycling in Asia Pacific, which she says has so many ‘largely undiscovered beautiful areas to ride’.

    Favourite Bike:

    A hand-built titanium Baum. “Made by Darren Baum in Geelong in Australia, not only does it have a beautiful custom colour scheme (a Bombay Sapphire gin bottle), but it also reminds me of having such a great time riding in Australia. Darren had it delivered to me in Adelaide in January 2016 to enjoy riding out to see the stages of the Tour Down Under. A special time.”

    Alex Valdman - Creative Director

    Starting his own successful clothing label and consulting for more than a decade at leading brands around the world, Alex Valdman joined Rapha as Head of Product Design in 2014. He is now Creative Director and leads the creation of a holistic design experience across the company. He is passionate about Rapha's culture, helping to build a team united by a shared love of the sport from different points of view.

    Favourite Ride:

    North of San Francisco, where Alex grew up, lies the Marin Headlands, home to his favourite route. "There's a gem of a ride that takes you over the Golden Gate Bridge to Hawk Hill to Mount Tamalpais to Alpine Dam and back to one of the most beautiful cities."

    Favourite Bike:

    Speedvagen. "It's important to have a relationship with your bike maker. Working with somebody to create something that has a bespoke fit makes for a ride with no distractions."

    Daniel Blumire - Product & Planning Director

    Daniel joined Rapha in 2014 as Head of Merchandising, after three years working at fashion retailer Topshop. Prior to this, Daniel worked in merchandising at both New Look and River Island. He is now Rapha’s Product & Planning Director, responsible for product management and development, sourcing and production, as well as the merchandising function.

    Favourite Ride:

    “I’ve been lucky enough to ride all over the world, but my favourite was the Col du Soulor. Beautiful, quiet roads, stunning scenery, and on a day when I was probably the fittest I have ever been on a bike, magical.”

    Favourite Bike:

    The next one. “Having been on a pretty rigid carbon bike with deep rimmed wheels for the past 5 years, I now want a more comfortable ride to take me through the next 10.”

    Mark Buckley - Finance Director

    Mark is a seasoned retailer with a financial background and joined Rapha in October 2016 from Burberry where he was Director of FP&A. He previously held senior positions at Marks and Spencer and Woolworths in South Africa.

    Favourite Ride:

    “My favourite ride was probably the Cape Argus in Cape Town way back in 2008 having only purchased a second-hand road bike a few months before and clipping in for the first time, but the natural beauty that surrounds the route which is lined with supporting crowds managed to get me through it despite the lack for preparation!”

    Favourite Bike:

    My favourite bike is my current one! Don’t expect anything too bling from an accountant - a comfortable, all 4 seasons, trusted aluminium Cannondale Caadx is my ride on or off road, although I am eyeing up a couple of titanium options at the moment...

    Francois Convercey - Global Marketing Director

    Before joining Rapha in 2015, Francois Convercey worked at FMCG companies L’Oréal, Mars and Procter & Gamble for 15 years across a range of marketing and business management roles, and across multiple geographies. When he moved to Rapha, he oversaw the sales and marketing operations in the Europe region. He is now Rapha’s Global Marketing Director, and leads Rapha’s global and regional brand development and marketing programs, as well as Rapha’s new business channels developments.

    Favourite Ride:

    The Cevennes, in the South of France. “This is where I fell in love with road cycling as a kid. I spent most of my family holidays there. It is one of the most remotes areas to ride in, but one that brings truly inspirational riding. The roads, the smell, the variety of terrain - everything brings me back to my childhood memories”.

    Favourite Bike:

    The next one. “There is always something special about the quest for your next bike, and the process that it involves. I am on the hunt for a vintage Look 396 track bike"
