Fire and cobblestone

In tribute to the Queen of the Classics, we ride routes inspired by the cobbles and landscapes of Northern France. We emulate our heroes on the road but make sure to finish our ride with time to watch them race over the cobbles en route to the velodrome. To help you keep a level head whilst riding A Day in Hell, each rider receives a limited edition cap on the startline.

Secure your place

  • There are 200 spaces on this year’s event so move quickly to avoid missing the break.
  • Each rider receives a special edition A Day in Hell cap at the start before tackling the challenging route.
  • All tickets will be sold on a first come first served basis.

The route

The day kicks off with a live-screening of the Queen of the Classics. Watch the race unfold at Rapha Boulder over a complimentary coffee from 6am, with the finish in Roubaix expected at around 9:30am. Inspired by the world’s best, our own Day in Hell, starts from 9:45am to 10:30am. Riders will leave in groups of 10-20 separated by intervals of five minutes. Setting out from Rapha Boulder and plotting a figure of eight through a selection of dusty dirt roads and singletrack sections to the north of town, A Day in Hell takes in the roughest of our local roads.

The route covers a distance of 80 miles before finishing at Rayback Collective where beers and frites will be served from 1:30pm until 5pm.

A GPX file of the route will be made available to all riders a few days before the ride. Complimentary sustenance will be provided at a feed station that you will pass twice en route. To celebrate your ride and recap on another edition of the Queen of the Classics, beer and frites will be served at the finish.

Can I come for just the ride?

Yes. If you'd like to watch the race from home, sign up and join us for the ride and finish party.

When and where does the ride start?

The ride starts at 9:45am from Rapha Boulder. Waves of up to 20 riders will depart at intervals of five minutes.

Can I download a GPX of the route?

Yes, a GPX file will be available a few days ahead of the ride.

Will there be food at the finish?

All riders will also be given a beer and frites voucher on the startline to be redeemed at the finish party at Rayback Collective.

Is the ride supported?

The ride is not supported so the emphasis is on self-sufficiency. We recommend taking at least two inner tubes on the ride, as well as food and water. We also recommend riding wider tires, 28mm are best.

Where can I park?

Parking is first come, first served street parking. All metered street parking that is not residential is free on Sundays.

Can I drop a bag of clothes to change into post-ride?

Yes, you can drop off a small bag with post-ride clothing at Rapha Boulder and we will bring it to the finish at Rayback Collective. You need to mark your bag with you first and last name and please ensure there are no fragile items in your bag. Unmarked bags will not be transported. Make sure the closure on your bag is secure. We recommend including a small bike lock for use at the finish as well.

Can friends or family join the finish party?

Yes, our space at Rayback can accommodate a large group. Beer and frites for additional guests are not included.
