The Lure Of The Côte D’Azur

Over a long weekend in May, the Rapha Cycling Club hosted its first French summit in the small commune of Mougins, on the heights of Cannes.

The roads of Provence are well-known in the cycling community for being some of the finest in Europe. Pros train here year-round, and both Paris-Nice and the Tour de France pass through the area taking in many of its iconic climbs along the way.

Late last year, a handful of members from the international chapter of the RCC travelled to Provence to recce the roads and routes that will feature at the summit. From the coastal vistas that expand as you approach the infamous Cap d’Antibes peninsula and the glitz of celebrity hot spot Hotel Eden Roc, to the stunning climbs that surround the red-ochre rock of the Massif de l’Esterel, the riding here is truly varied and unique. Below are a selection of images from their trip, offering a small glimpse at the amazing cycling terrain the French Riviera has to offer.

At the Summit Côte d’Azur, guests enjoyed some of the very best riding in the region, all expertly guided by experienced Rapha Travel staff with full on-road support. Alongside riding, there was fine wine, exquisite cuisine, audiences with industry experts, and the camaraderie you’d expected from experiencing all of the above alongside your clubmates.

The Rapha Cycling Club hosts other events and regular rides for its members in chapters around the world, with many organised by members themselves.
