Setting out from the shores of Lake Annecy, riders followed the same route as the tenth stage of the 2018 Tour de France, a twisting and mountainous course finishing in the small town of le Grand Bornand.
Rapha and l’Etape du Tour
Sunday, 8 July 2018 saw riders from around the world follow in the tyre tracks of the Tour de France, pitting themselves against the steep climbs and gravel tracks of the Savoie Alps.
Rapha Cycling Club at l’Etape
Every year the Etape brings RCC members from around the world together, and this year was no different. With so many riding in the distinctive club colours, a full RCC support team was on hand in the Mobile Clubhouse to help riders focus on the challenge at hand.
RCC members rode together on pre-event reconnaissance rides while support staff secured places in the early starting pens for those looking to head out earlier. On the big day, riders were sent on their way with a coffee and specially prepared food to fill their pockets.
Upon crossing the finish line, members were greeted by the team and led back to the Mobile Clubhouse for a post-ride massage and a hearty meal, just rewards for their incredible efforts.
Here’s a gallery showing the highlights from the weekend.
L’Etape du Tour collection
Once a proudly independent mountain kingdom, Savoie is now more commonly known as the setting for many of the most memorable mountain duels in Tour de France history. The region’s distinctive flag, along with the route profile, provides the inspiration for Rapha’s l'Etape du Tour collection, which uses the best fabrics and technology from our main range to help you conquer the climbs.
