The Rapha Prestige tasks small amateur teams with an unsupported and unmarshalled adventure across stunning terrain. Unsupported and unmarshalled, the rules are simple: start and finish as a team, and pass through all the checkpoints.
Prepare for approximately 150 kilometres of riding and expect to be on the bike for around 7 hours on the last Prestige event in South Korea this year. We seek out the roads less travelled, aiming to be quite remote at times on a route that climbs out of the Seomjin River valley and into the mountains. Though there are many climbs on the route, the undoubted highlight of the day will be the ascent of Jirisan, a tough climb with views of Jeollanam-do county. There will be checkpoint locations and a supplied route, which will be revealed only to confirmed participants 48 hours before the ride.
The Prestige Gurye is a completely unsupported ride to be completed by around 30 teams of four. You are responsible for navigation and all riders are expected to be self-sufficient. Minimum kit should include two tubes, a multi-tool, a pump, a patch kit, and a masterlink. We highly recommend spare kit and nutrition. A paper cue sheet will be supplied as well as a .gpx file.
Thank you for your request. We’ll contact you when your Rapha Prestige Gurye 2019 is available.
