RCC and Team Wiggins in Hong Kong

Team Wiggins In Skyscraper City

Rapha Cycling Club Hong Kong

07 January 2017

With red, blue and gold stripes emblazoned across their chests, the young riders of Team WIGGINS arrived in Hong Kong ready to compete in the city's Cyclothon Criterium.

The race marked the end of the season for most of the WIGGINS riders. What's more, it was the last outing in team colours for Scott Davies and James Knox, who progress to the World Tour next year with Dimension Data and Quick-Step Floors, respectively.

Their time in Hong-Kong was also an opportunity to ride local routes with Rapha Cycling Club (RCC) members, meet fans at the Rapha Hong Kong Pop-Up, and enjoy some down-time with the Rapha Hong Kong team. Below, RCC members describe their day with the pros. Experiences like these are just one of the many benefits of joining the club.

"It was a pleasure to be part of the ride and show the guys our island and our love for cycling! It's great that Rapha supports a team like this. They are amazing young athletes and amazing people. It was nice to meet them and hear more about their daily lives as well as training and racing. Thanks again for the opportunity to get a look into their world."
Dana Guidance, (RCC #13396)
"After a short ride with the team, I got to sit down with them over breakfast. Then a quick Q&A session. I got a sense of their training, team dynamics and a glimpse into their minds as they take their first steps into the life of professional bike racing. Some are signing contracts with pro teams and some still finding their way in the peloton. All in all, a fascinating morning."
Eric Fu, (RCC #00070)
"What make a cyclist a pro rider? Apart from the skills and power, I think it's their manner and personality. With the RCC, I got the chance not only to meet Team WIGGINS, but also to ride on the busy roads of Hong Kong with them. The team is humble, energetic and most importantly – they are real. Meeting a professional team like this is rare, riding with them is unbelievable, having a post-ride brunch with the team is once in a lifetime."
Marcus Lo, (#RCC 03722)

The Rapha Cycling Club hosts regular rides for its members in chapters around the world, with many organised by members themselves.
