Rapha merino socks are the finest cycling-specific socks in the world. The socks use a new blend of yarns, including luxurious merino wool. This natural fibre wicks sweat better than any synthetic, keeping you cool and dry in the summer and warm in colder weather. It is also naturally anti-bacterial so, unlike polyester, the socks won’t smell after repeated use. The socks also have hand-locked seams at the toes to prevent rubbing, and are reinforced at the heel.

Rapha Bidon - Large
Rated 1 out of 5 by monte1991 from Disappointing changes to what was a go-to product For quite a few years I have bought and really liked this traditional wool cycling socks.Sometime recently however Rapha dumbed them down. The main body of the sock is now a thinner see-through weave, with reinforced heel and upper hem. The effect of the thin weave has been to reduce the best characteristic of wool; warmth. So if you are looking for a soft warm weather sock then okay, like the synthetic team sock, but these wool socks are no longer a go-to sock in cooler (Spring and Fall) conditions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Whito from Great quality and fit! I bought these for the summer whilst I was purchasing another item however the slightly milder weather has ment I've started wearing them. I'm a size 9uk and the large is a perfect fit! Really nice quality and feel to them but the best accolade I can give these socks is that I don't notice them at all once there on! With neopreane shoe covers my feet didn't get clammy or overheat. On a 4hr rain ride my feet were stacked but I didn't feel that squelchy feeling when sicks hold onto all the water and my feet remained warm (ish). Early days on durability but three rides from 60-100 miles they performed great and show no signs of wear.

Rated 1 out of 5 by rob_milligan from Very disappointed I have been buying the merino socks for years now and up until this last order have been very satisfied. I'm afraid this last order of 3 pairs are much thinner than previous orders as well as being very small fitting and restrictive across the instep of the foot. One pair ripped when trying on!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Simon7 from No longer soft and luxurious I have been buying Rapha merino socks every year as they are the most comforrtable socks I can find, especially the white ones. The new version while still made from merino is not as soft and while they still wick well the wool is harsher. I am quite disappointed in the change that has occured. Please go back to the older ones.

Rated 3 out of 5 by boomforeal from i am dissapoint i received a pair of merino rapha socks a few years ago for xmas and they were the greatest, most comfy things ever. they died after a few years of regular use, so i ordered myself three new pairs online. the socks that turned up were nowhere near as plush, comfortable and attractive as my old socks... not sure if they've changed or i got the wrong kind, but i'm pretty disappointed in what look like some pretty ho-hum socks. oh well

Rated 5 out of 5 by Gordy from It's only a pair of socks? Style over function or function over style! No denying that Rapha have always focused on style - after all look at all those black and white advertising flyers. So to the socks - comfortable - yes very on a century ride. Better than the competition - ? The merino mix feels very "lush" and subjectively I'd say yes when compared to the Swiss competition. Worth the premium - probably regarding functionality; factor in style then yes. Longevity - yet to be tested; although given they are made in Sweden they will hopefully last as long as as a Volvo estate wagon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rob_Collins from Best socks money can buy Once you try these merino socks you'll never go back. Cool in summer and warm in winter even when soaking wet. Very durable too, no joke I've put in nearly 15000km over 2 years into my first pair and they haven't worn out yet. Just buy some!

Rated 5 out of 5 by REDTONY from Socks. Have worn these on a several rides now. They are very comfortable. The weather has been quite warm and my feet haven't been found in a damp state after or during a ride They have been in the wash at the recommended 30c. No tumble dry. Just left out to dry on the line. They are still soft and functional as the 1st day I tried them. Purchased several pairs and I am more than happy with this quality Rapha product.

My shoe size is EUR 45-46 or US12. As this is at the upper end of L, would it be better to go for XL? I'm worried about excess bulk if the sock stretches too much with the XL or would the L stretch enough?
Based on the shoe size you have, we would suggest that the XL would be a better fit for you

Is this Purple the same as the Brevet Purple Jersey?
Hi, the dark purple is very similar to that used in the Brevet Jersey. They would pair well together.

I see there are two purples listed , I want the first Darker purple of the two. Is this a typo ? If so what is correct colour code ?
Hi, there are correctly two purple colours listed. The dark purple colour code is DPR and the normal purple is PUR.

I ordered these some time ago and now I noticed an "L" inside the two socks. Does this mean I got two left socks or there isn't a left/right system with these ones?
Hi, the L in the socks refers to the length. There is not a left/right system to these socks.

Are the sizes according to shoe sizes? My running shoe is between US7.5-8 or UK 5-5.5. What size socks should I take?
Hi, the sizing is according to shoe size. We would recommend you purchase the Medium in these socks.

How "short" are these socks? And where is this measurement taken from (heel, ankle, bottom?)
Hi, as we all differ in shape and form it is hard to advise exactly how these will fit on each person. They are intended to reach just above the ankle.
