Description

This base layer is the foundation of our special limited collection, made in honour of US champion and Olympic medallist, Nelson Vails, nicknamed The Cheetah.

Watch Nelson Vails racing the ‘84 Los Angeles Olympics and you’ll soon see why. Vails’ predatory power – bred in the concrete jungle as a bike messenger, where he never failed to deliver – saw him scoop silver, resplendent in red, white and blue. This collection recalls Vails’ riding and racing roots.

With an all-over tonal black and grey thunderbolt print and a raised thunderbolt logo below the collar, this base layer works hard to keep sweat away from the skin, improving temperature regulation and comfort.

Low-profile seams – both flatlock and bonded – are used throughout to reduce irritation, and the fabric’s supple stretch gives a great fit. Anti-bacterial and wicking treatments are applied to the fabric to keep it feeling fresh even on long rides.
