Water Bottles
Stylish and functional water bottles with an ergonomic grip and antibacterial treatment for staying hydrated on the bike.
Are Rapha water bottles BPA-free and safe for daily use?
Yes, all Rapha bidons are manufactured from a high-quality, BPA-free plastic that ensures your water remains taste-free and safe to consume. We prioritise materials that do not leach chemicals, even when exposed to direct sunlight or high temperatures during a ride. The medical-grade silicone used for the self-sealing nozzle is also food-safe and designed to withstand regular use. This commitment to quality ensures that your hydration remains pure, allowing you to focus entirely on the road or trail ahead.
What makes a bidon different from a regular water bottle?
A true bidon is designed for one-handed operation while moving at speed. It features a squeezable body made from food-grade, BPA-free plastic, allowing you to drink quickly without having to tilt your head back excessively. Most Rapha bidons also feature a self-sealing heart valve in the nozzle. This means you can keep the valve in the open position during your ride for instant access to hydration, but the bottle will not leak or drip unless you actually squeeze it, keeping your frame and kit clean.
What is the difference between a standard and insulated bidon?
Our standard bidons are designed for lightweight, flexible hydration, featuring a high-flow valve for easy drinking on the move. In contrast, the insulated versions incorporate a double-wall construction that creates a thermal barrier, keeping your water cold for twice as long during hot summer rides. While the standard bottle is the classic choice for racing and weight-conscious riders, the insulated bidon is ideal for long-distance endurance efforts where maintaining a cool temperature is essential for comfort and performance.
What sizes are available in the Rapha bidon range?
We offer our water bottles in two primary sizes: Small (625ml/21oz) and Large (750ml/25oz). The smaller version is perfect for shorter training sessions or for frames with limited clearance, such as smaller road bikes or full-suspension mountain bikes. The larger size is the preferred choice for epic days in the saddle where water stops may be infrequent. Both sizes share a universal diameter, ensuring they fit securely into all standard cycling bottle cages for a rattle-free experience on any terrain.
How should I clean and maintain my cycling bidons?
To keep your bottles fresh, we recommend rinsing them with warm, soapy water after every ride. Our bidons are dishwasher safe on the top rack, though hand washing can help preserve the printed graphics for longer. For a deep clean, the silicone nozzle can be removed to ensure no residue builds up in the valve. Always allow the bottle and cap to dry completely in an open position before storing them. Proper maintenance prevents the growth of mould and ensures your water always tastes crisp.
