Highly visible gilet for safe riding

Created for riding in low winter light and at night, the standalone Brevet Gilet designed to complement the Brevet Jersey. The gilet is made from a fabric that is durable enough to withstand the demands of the daily commute, but has a slim cut for a racing feel. It is great for layering over a jersey or jacket, and is windproof and highly visible.

It can be carried in a jersey pocket as emergency protection and is the perfect outer shell on your low-light road-rides, or dark commutes through the city.

1 CHEST

Using a tape measure, take the total measurement around the fullest part of your chest, holding the tape horizontally.

2 WAIST

Run the tape around the narrowest part of your waist holding the tape horizontally.

3 HIPS

Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest point of the hip, keeping the tape measure horizontal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent fit and beautiful design Who would have thought a gillet could be designed so well that it is both slimming but hi viz! Very snug fit that avoids the plastic bag look that many gillets result in. My go to gillet that offers good wind protection, visibility and packability. My only gripe is the lack of pockets. If your pockets are super full just remember the gillet will need to be stretched over all of this and it can give you a lump back look. Easy access on the bike is also compromised. However, I'm happy to live with this as my friends with the older style Rapha vest with pockets seem to be less fitted and do look a bit plastic bag-like.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from VERY visible AND stylish. Bought this to put on over all my coats, not just cycling gear, for being visible on the rural lanes I walk and ride on. It is fab! VERY visible, both in the dark and in low, winter daylight and the best thing of all: It actually fits well and looks good. I bought a size larger than I normally would do, because I wanted it to fit over coats and jackets as well as fitted cycling gear and am glad I did as it isn't generous in size. I'd say it is a 'race fit' like all my other Rapha kit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Shockingly Little product for the money Please be aware that this 'gilet' has no pockets-- this is particularly important as it's hard to access the stuff in my pockets that are under it, and it starts to look really unattractive and lumpy going on over the load in my pockets. It is ultra lightweight and will fold away to almost nothing in your pocket. It may be useful for the summer on cool mornings, but it has nothing to offer the rest of the time except the clear Rapha styling so you can impress your friends with how much you paid for almost nothing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect in every way! I have worn this on all rides since purchasing it. I have been so impressed by its comfort and styling. I bought it because all my cycling kit seemed so suddenly end up black and I was conscious of not being very easily seen on the roads. I didn't want a badly fitting bright green vest though, all by other clothes I have slowly managed to replace and am really happy with my nice cut jackets and tights, I didn't want to cover the with a badly fitting dodgey number! This vest is a great colour (bright pink) a nice slim fit and great flattering cut. It is plenty long enough in the body, good quality zips and seams, light weight but seems to provide good wind resistance, regulates temperate, doesn't make you too hot. So pleased, thanks Rapha!

It packs away easily into a pocket, yet still looks great when pulled out. The mesh sides do a great job at keeping you cool whilst the front keeps the windchill away. Looks great too, especially when matched with the brevet jersey.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very light I bought this with other items in an Xl although I am a size 12 I have a DDD bust so it is quite snug I would only be able to get this over my summer jersey and not the thicker winter one Very light and packs sooo small you can get into rear pocket/seat bag

Do you recommend sizing up on this? I am 175cm, 72kg, athletic built. Wear M in your souplesse jersey.

You should be able to wear in Medium in this garment also. Please do consult the size guide on the product page and see which size best meets your dimensions. You do have 90 days to return the goods to us if this does not meet with your suitability.
