A long-sleeve layering system in a single garment

Inspired by the Rapha Brevet credo of ‘pack light, travel far’, the multi-functional Brevet Long Sleeve Windblock Jersey fuses the all-day performance of a merino jersey, with the wind-protection of a gilet.

Warm and insulating, an overlaid panel made from the fabric of the Rapha Brevet Gilet has been stitched onto the front of the jersey and the arms, doing away with the need for a windbreaker or a base layer because the panel layers over the jersey fabric. With reflective and hi-vis Brevet stripes on the front and back, and a total of five pockets, this is a versatile piece with ample storage for food and tools. Paired with its ability to be washed and dried overnight, this makes the Brevet Long Sleeve Windblock Jersey the perfect companion for multi-day adventures by bike.

  • Wind-resistant polyester panels stitched to front of the jersey and arms for protection on chilly descents
  • New quick-drying, lightweight merino fabric for comfort in the heat
  • Reflective and hi-vis Brevet stripes on front and back to aid visibility in low-light
  • Two zipped valuables pockets on front of jersey for storage of essentials
  • Triple rear cargo pocket for easy-access storage

Main body:

  • 89% merino wool
  • 11% nylon

  • Machine wash 30ºC
  • Wash dark colours separately
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Do not iron
  • Do not bleach
  • Do not dry cleanv

Body sizing

Chest: measure underneath the armpits with the tape measure straight around.
Back Length: measure from the bottom of where your collar sits/base of the neck to the bottom of your spine.
Arm length: measure from where the seam would start at shoulder to bottom of the wrist.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent at it’s best Don’t think the jersey will be only for wind protection, it is much more universal. Fabric is thin and gentle, but surprisingly keep you worm, that’s why I find it perfect for rides in 5-10 degrees. I recommend for anyone looking for long sleeve resolution on bike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Cool Weather Kit I wore on a cool and foggy 49 F morning ride with a lightweight long sleeve wool baselayer. No wind penetration came through the front or arms so on descents was perfectly comfortable. On climbs, 1/2 unzipped jersey and it breathed well. Next time I'll try a short sleeve baselayer at this temp range as my arms didn't need the base. I'm 5'-11" and 175 lbs and the Large fit perfectly. Great addition to my gear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Cold Weather Jersey Awesome warmth and comfort on early morning windy November UK rides. Temps down to 3 degrees with a long sleeve base layer, arm warmers and a short sleeve summer jersey perfect heat regulation. Nice close fit body (Im 38" chest, 5'11", 72Kg went for medium) arms are a little long on length only slight criticism. Good size pockets, reflective bands very effective.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for fresh rides Used now for 3 weeks for cold dark evening rides, good reflective strips (would be nice to have one on the arm as well). The wind block works very well. I'm warm within 5-10 mins at 5-10 degrees C and the temperature is well regulated. So much so I don't notice being too hot or cold. I also wear a Rapha Merino T-Shirt at the same time. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! Great for colder rides. Have worn with a base layer and under a Rapha Classic Jacket on rides between 3-5c and have been plenty warm enough. Looks great in grey too. Very happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Wind Stoper The place where I live has no quite code winter, so a versatile wind jersey is what I want which can stop the wind and at the same time keep my body warn. This jersey is really what I want, and the feature that it could be able to dry overnight is another factor why I choose this, and it proved working.

I am assuming the Winter version is thicker, but how does the the Brevet Windblock Jersey differ from the Winter Windblock Jersey?

Asked by: Rob T
Hi, that is correct, The Winter Windblock Jersey is thicker all around. The Brevet Windblock Jersey has great Windblock coverage at the front of the torso and arms and a nice lightweight merino fabric on the back for higher breathability and quick drying.

What type of merino is used in this jersey? Is it just as thick/warm as the Classic Jersey II long sleeve?

Asked by: vc3038
Hi, the merino used on this jersey is a new quick-drying, lightweight merino fabric. It offers comfort in the heat and allows for best heat exertion whilst the windbreaker panels keep you protected from the elements. This is not the same material fiber structure as the Classic Jersey II.

would I need to wear the insulated brevet gilet with this in winter

Asked by: wallyboy38
This Jersey would replicate the wind resistant features of the Gilet. However, when colder, the Insulated Gilet adds an extra layer of insulation and heat retention

How does this size. I wear extra large in the classic but could also wear large. Extra large runs big.

Asked by: Convict
The Brevet and Classic range share a very similar sizing, so either size would be suitable depending on your preference

I’m 165 cm height and my chest is 90 cm, which size do you recommend xs or s ?

Asked by: Bruno1
as we are all different in shape and preference of fit regardless of our weight and height, we do ask you to please refer to the size guide as far as possible. With the information you have provided, we would suggest you try a XS. Should you need to exchange, we have a 90 days return period for new/unused and with tags garments.

Hi Does this jersey offer any water repellency?

Asked by: Brothers on Bikes
This Merino Jersey does not feature a DWR treatment, but Merino does manage external moisture better than artificial fibres

Hello, what is the temperature range of this item?

Asked by: Nicola Cosco
As we all regulate temperature differently it is hard to advice on the temperature range for individuals and differing exertion levels will also affect its properties.

The percentage of wool in this jersey looks to be much higher than other merino blends in the Rapha line. How and why is the base fabric of the wind block jersey different than the regular, non-windblock brevet long-sleeve jersey?

Asked by: BlacknBlue
The front panel is not Merino, but a wind proof fabric and thus the percentage of Merino used in the rest of the Jersey is higher to help regulate temperature better
