Description

Designed for high-tempo riding and racing when the temperature is close to freezing, the Women's Pro Team Thermal Base Layer takes the Classic Deep Winter Base Layer as inspiration and adds a technical twist. This base layer is made from a polyester fabric that has a soft grid finish against the skin, engineered to trap air and keep your body warm without compromising the fabric’s quick-drying and fast-wicking properties. This ensures that even when you sweat during hard efforts, moisture won’t work against you on your cool down. The base layer has a tall snood which covers up to the mouth and ears when worn high, with a gap at the back for longer hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Functionality wise it's my go-to Got this base layer in purple to match my Brevet jersay, together they make my rides warm and stylish and been my go-to during fall and winter in UK (I do add more layers when colder outside). Love the turtle neck functionality and use if often, in cold weather even over my face and put through ponytail to keep my neck warm. Do note - Top is on shorter side and my torzo is relatively short (162 cm), which is okay when you tuck it in with bib shorts or high waisted tights. Otherwise on it's own it is not the most flattering look (with shoulders and shorter fit) but thankfully there is Jersay over it. Could imagine to some tall ladies it may be too short.

I bought the black version of this top, as I was given the olive coloured one as a christmas present, and have worn it on every ride since receiving it!! I ride quite 'hard' on my rides and am impresses how it does NOT hold any moisture, despite my mid layers being a bit damp at times. Love the ponytail hole at the back as it helps the high neck stay in pace and not to drop down....use it all the time. Feels lovely against the skin. I am a size 8, and wear a size S. The only base layer I wear next to skin on my winter/cold rides.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice concept, great base, but..... So awesome that I purchased an extra one. This base layer is the foundation to helping you stay warm. It really does the job well. Just a bit of feedback. All of us don’t have thin, straight hair. The ponytail hole does not accommodate those with thick, long, voluminous hair. All of my hair will not fit through the opening provided for a ponytail, so I’m left with a gaping hole at the back of my neck. Luckily, I have my hair to keep me warm. Other than that small gripe, I think the base layer is excellent. It’s extremely warm and depending on the temp, can be work without a jersey with just a thin wind jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ideal for winter training This item is perfect if you need winter protection but also overheat quickly. I'm usually cold to start with and then overheat very quickly. This item works better for me than the merino version of it as it is very breathable yet it keeps you warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Central heating for cold days If you need to keep warm on cold dank days, this is a fantastic piece of kit. I wore it under the winter jacket and together they kept me warm enough on descents and long stretches into a cold headwind, while opening the jacket zips prevented overheating without damp chilliness. At the end of the ride (4.5 hours, Cumbria, January) the base layer was still dry. Can't do better than that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for a Cold Winter Ride I live in Canada and the temperature has already dropped to -8C. This base layer was perfect. When I was riding into the wind, the tall snood protected my face and could easily be lowered out of the wind. It provides excellent wicking. Would buy another one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just enough, not too much. I road this under my rain cape during CycloCross Nationals in Lakewood. It was raining. It was just the right amount of warmth. I bought it for the neck and face protection and to add a layer on temps close to 40. I want my lungs warm.
