Lightweight, windproof and extremely packable club cycling jacket

The RCC Classic Wind Jacket is designed for changeable conditions, cool morning starts, descents and sudden showers. It has been completely redesigned and now features a new, lighter weight stretch nylon fabric and a more streamlined construction. The RCC version of the jacket features reflective RCC logos and hi-vis pink stripes on the arms for added visibility. Bonded seams and hems provide even further weight saving, and also add to the clean aesthetic. A low-profile bonded chest pocket with a bonded zip keeps small valuables secure, and mesh inserts that run under the arm seams aid ventilation when working hard on the bike. A mini popper prevents the jacket billowing when unzipped, and a direct applied silicone gripper on the hem keeps the jacket in place. When not in use, the jacket packs down small enough to fit into a jersey pocket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Faults It is difficult for me to find cycle clothing that both fits and looks great, particularly those extra layers or the more technical end of the spectrum. To put this into context I am a 103kg, ex rugby playing, 6’3’’ tall chap and so even at the larger end of the scale most brands are not quite there. For autumn and into winter I wanted something that was that useful final outer layer. I’ve gone with thermal jerseys in the past but I just seem to overheat after about five minutes so thin layers work for me. If they work for you too then you need this in your wardrobe. I’d say that you will struggle if taller than me as it comes up quite short at the front… perhaps I should say ‘just right’ but there isn’t much leeway. The arm length is bang on which again can be a drama. I first tested this out on a chilly 4 degree sunny autumnal morning and I can’t complain about being too cold or too hot. I had it over a baselayer and a long sleeve jersey. Combined with some warm gloves and winter tights I couldn’t have been happier (well, it could have been Tuscany and 30 degrees I suppose). I also never thought I’d have much to say about a pocket but the front pocket is a perfect size for a couple of bank cards and your front door key where as the ‘tail’ was lax enough to enable access to jersey pockets without fuss. Aside from the above it’s comfortable, it looks great and the neon pink really stands out in the dark when a bit of light hits it. Perfect for those twilight rides. Cheers Rapha. No regrets. Alistair

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features I like the Club. I like the clothing quality - fabric and sewing. The clothes run small for the size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatility I place a premium on multi-use and this is another great example from Rapha. This jacket tucks easily in a back pocket for those in-between temp days on the bike. It fits great, and keeps your warm for the early parts of a ride, then packs when no longer needed. I wear it on commutes to business meetings, and when I run. Always a winner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Perfect Packable Jacket Typical Rapha high quality fit and finish. This jacket conforms to sizing very well (unlike the small Pro Team stuff). Very nice for cool departs and stows away easily in a jersey pocket when things warm up. The perfect wind jacket actually.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The most flexible piece from Rapha Great for wearing in cooler, showery conditions with merino base layer and mid weight jersey. If it gets wet it dries out very quickly, and while it's wet it tends not to get too cold- the water warms up. More flexible than other jackets for spring/ autumn where you can overheat or find difficult to stow during the ride. This packs away so I use it instead of long sleeve winter jersey.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Thinnest wind jacket ever. A little too think for my liking, runs a little large, good length on body and arms. It could go another 2cm longer and another 50gsm thicker in material, but pretty solid.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mostly good Nice lightweight and packable and great fit along classic lines. RCC edition has those dreadfully ostentatious logos on the rear - much prefer a simple band or something. Perhaps they're using an American designer who has worked on varsity jackets. Material works well and steams up abit over 10 miles. Race cape II much better but not packable.
