High-performance winter tights

Deep into the coldest season, these tights will keep you warm but stop you overheating thanks to a dual-fabric construction inspired by the Pro Team Jacket.

The wind-blocking DWR (durable water repellent) fabric on the front panels gives necessary protection from the elements while the breathable fabric on the rear allows sweat to be released from the back of the tights. A nifty innovation to stop you sweating in traditionally thick winter wear.

The chamois is in the same position as in the Pro Team Bib Shorts, staying stable and comfortable during even high-intensity efforts in the drops. The bib straps are constructed from a lightweight mesh, and the tights' waist is raised to offer insulation across the torso, keeping the lower back warm. Finished with bright details for visibility in low light.

Reviews:

‟Heading out on a couple of early morning rides with a temperature of about 2°C, my legs were toasty warm. And thanks to the breathable fabric at the back of the legs, I never experienced any overheating, even as the temperature moved up into double figures after a five-hour ride. For riding in really bad weather these tights are about the best I've ever tested.”
‟Fit is an area Rapha generally do extremely well, and these are extremely comfortable bib tights. The DWR treated material does not have a great deal of stretch, but thanks to the smart cut of the various panels there is no restriction on your freedom of movement when pedalling. The fit is good around the hips, bum and crotch area too, and the flat wide bib straps exert no undue pressure on your shoulders.”

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply brilliant After many attempts over many years to make do with cheaper alternatives I upgraded to these based on the fact I have quite a few Rapha summer items which are all faultless. These are similar to my Pro Team bibshorts so from first ride matched the 'perfect' expectation I had. Large is a perfect fit, I'm 1.83m and 78kg. I had reservations about the lack of bottom leg zip. They are therefore not as easy to get on over the foot but once on are in fact more comfortable because there is no zip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic tights for cold weather riding These tights are exceptional for colder weather riding. I have worn them in upwards of -8 degrees celcius (17.6 degrees farenheit) and felt very comfortable. I am 6'2'' and weigh 190 pounds and size XL was a great fit. Great tights to keep you riding well into the colder months in the fall and out nice and early in the spring.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic winter bibs Used all winter in a variety of temps and weather. Never felt cold even when very wet as they act like wetsuit to insulate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great Have use this at -15C and still be warm if you ride hard. Sometimes in Sweden we have wet roads (due to salt) and the tights hold the water of well. I'm 194 cm and 90kg and XL is perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Comfort, Warmth, Fit I had a pair of Deep Winter bibs without a pad that developed wear in the seat area. I shipped them to Rapha for possible repair, however Rapha provided me a voucher within a week for a new winter bib at no cost (to include shipping). I chose the Pro Team Winter Tights with Pad, and I'm very pleased not only with this bib, but with the exceptional customer service and the way Rapha stands behind the quality of their products.

I asked a question previously about the windproofing of these tights but don't think kit was understood what I meant - is the fabric windproof, or is the windproofing applied through the DWR treatment?

Asked by: Hunty95
The fabric on the panels is Windproof and the DWR treatment compliments this by allowing the water to roll off the garment.

I have a paid of the most recent core bib shorts in xs - how does the pad and size compare in these? I have a 32" inside leg, wondered if xs would still be suitable? Also, is thr pad the same?

Asked by: Hunty95
The XS would be a suitable size for you based on your previous purchases. The Pro Team Pad is a plusher, thicker pad than the Core Team version
