Performance cycling gloves for cold weather

Rapha has updated all of its cycling gloves for 2017, with the Pro Team Gloves designed for riders and racers requiring a full-finger pair for mild and cold weather. Using an improved Polartec fabric - the same as in the Pro Team Race Cape - the gloves are windproof, water-resistant (the fabric is waterproof, but the seams are too close together to be fully taped), and yet breathable enough to stop you overheating during hard efforts. Another newly re-engineered improvement is the fit: a mesh panel inserted on the underside of the seams creates shape when your hands grip the bars but which doesn’t restrict motion the rest of the time. The seams have also been repositioned to avoid any pressure points, easing the strain on your hands. Microsuede fabrics have been inserted into the first two fingers of each hand for grip when shifting and braking. The tips have also been treated with a conductive solution to allow use of your phone or GPS computer without taking your gloves off.

  • Updated palm layout delivers improved grip comfort
  • Same Polartec fabric as Pro Team Race Cape for improved weather proofing and breathability
  • Quick-drying and doesn’t hold water
  • Microsuede inserts on gear shifting fingertips for grip
  • Touchscreen fingertips
  • Minimal seams,
  • High-dexterity fit

  • Machine Wash 30C
  • Do not bleach
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Do not dry clean
  • Gloves sizing

Knuckles: measure around the widest part of your dominant hand, between thumb and index finger. Please note if purchasing with Overmitts and/or Winter Gloves match sizes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect autom gloves I simply love these gloves. They are light. They are water and wind resistant. What more could you ask from them? The fabric does a good job at transporting humidity during high intensity rides, and they are comfortable to wear. The only thing that could have improved them was mesh for google/nose on the thumbs as on Rapha's pro team mitts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great! Fall is rolling in and used these today for the first time, perfect fit (true to size but the winter gloves are smaller) perfect for temps 40-50 prolly good where them up to 60 if u want hands were perfectly comfy it averaged about 45-50 for todays ride

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Autumn Gloves; not bad, but not great. The size guide is spot-on. I've not got big hands but with some brands I', a 'L'. I bought a medium, the fit perfect. They kept my hands warm (maybe a bit too warm when out in 10-6 degrees). They feel nice and look nice and grip well. BUT... as all cycling know, we leak when out cycling; we sweat and get a runny nose. Most gloves have an absorbent toweling thumb fabric. These don't. So when you wipe you nose or forehead your lovely new and expensive Rapha Pro team gloves become not so lovely...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice mid to low weight gloves Close fitting gloves good for cooler (4-12 C) weather. Great for road riding. They don't have a pronounced grip which was noted during a cyclocross race while riding the hoods, but otherwise a great glove.

    Asked by: roundthebend
We would recommend choosing the Large, but also suggest that you purchase both and return the pair that you decide is least comfortable

This newer version can be used in lower temperatures than the previous model?

    Asked by: Genatan
The Gloves use a new material that make them more resistant to water and wind, so should provide warmer hands in a greater variety of weathers

Will the new Pro team gloves accommodate a liner glove beneath when it gets really cold? Or are they too snug a fit on their own?

    Asked by: Mikedajazz
A merino liner could be used with these gloves, but some individual differences in hand size means that not all would be able to achieve this.

Do these replace or have similar performance to the Pro Team Softshell Glove?

    Asked by: openquotes
The new pro team Gloves are completely re-engineered using wind-proof and waterproof materials to improve comfort in cold and wet weather, while added functionality allows the use of electronic devices without removing gloves.
