A long-sleeve layering system in a single garment

Inspired by the Rapha Brevet credo of ‘pack light, travel far’, the multi-functional Brevet Long Sleeve Windblock Jersey fuses the all-day performance of a merino jersey, with the wind-protection of a gilet.

Warm and insulating, an overlaid panel made from the fabric of the Rapha Brevet Gilet has been stitched onto the front of the jersey and the arms, doing away with the need for a windbreaker or a base layer because the panel layers over the jersey fabric. With reflective and hi-vis Brevet stripes on the front and back, and a total of five pockets, this is a versatile piece with ample storage for food and tools. Paired with its ability to be washed and dried overnight, this makes the Brevet Long Sleeve Windblock Jersey the perfect companion for multi-day adventures by bike.

FEATURES

  • Wind-resistant polyester panels stitched to front of the jersey and arms for protection on chilly descents
  • New quick-drying, lightweight merino fabric for comfort in the heat
  • Reflective and hi-vis Brevet stripes on front and back to aid visibility in low-light
  • Two zipped valuables pockets on front of jersey for storage of essentials
  • Triple rear cargo pocket for easy-access storage

  • 11% nylon

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another great merino product! I have been a fan of Rapha's merino line since I first discovered Rapha and this item does not disappoint. Very comfy and true to size. The front pockets are handy at stops. The windproof front makes this light jersey much warmer, but it still breathes well enough and is suitable for high speed descents in cold weather. It breathes much better than any full wind jacket in my experience. I did get hot/sweaty on some climbs, but was typically dry within a few minutes of corresponding descending (wearing a merino mesh longsleeve baselayer). I like this piece in temps from the 30s through 40s. I also did one ride in surprising rain and dense fog. I was very wet yet remained warm, even though this jersey was not designed for such conditions. The windproof front is also very water resistant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Go to jersey I bought this early spring and have to say it is my new go to jersey. It is really comfy on the bike, the length is just right and the wind proof front is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Practical and lightweight Multi-functional item. Merino wool with lightweight windstopper on chest and front of arms - combination of jersey and gilet so highly practical. Fit was a bit smaller than classic range (I had to size up to an XL) mainly due to the lack of stretch in the chest area.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent fear and fit I am 160 pounds and 5'9" and the medium fits a little snug but I also tried the large which is a little big, so I went with medium. I figured I can drop 3-4 pounds and it will fit well! The pockets are great and the sleeve length is perfect. I wear a 15 1/2 X 33 long sleeve dress shirt. the material is good and feels silky smooth even though it's wool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded expectations! Being an engineer I'm trained to be sceptical of claims of technical excellence in products. Therefore, upon using the jersey on its first ride, the claims became reality... An excellent product. Chapeau!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ANOTHER never knew I needed this product! Love this. All the fit and comfort of a mid season jersey but with the wind proofing of a Gilet. PLUS you have full access to the rear pockets easily at anytime, unlike when wearing a Gilet over a jersey...... Its Genious!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New favorite Jersey For me that using a gillet almoust all summer this is a perfect combination of jersey and gillet. Good even in 10 degree celsius.

Hi, I plan on doing a three week long ride from the Netherlands to Rome in May, but hesitant on the top jersey to wear, between a full wind/rain jacket or this one. Which one would you recommend?

Asked by: Floris
Hi, at that time of year we would recommend you choose this jersey over a wind and rain resistant winter jacket. However, you should definitely stow a lightweight rain jacket, such as the Pro Team Race Cape in a jersey pocket.

What's the recommended temperature range of this jersey? Will mainly be using it for 30-40 minute commutes, during which I find that I don't always warm up in my current jersey.

Asked by: WilliamB
Hi, it is hard to advise an exact temperature range as this will depend on your own temperature regulation and exertion level. However, this jersey can be used from 4/5-15 degrees celsius.
