Quality cooling headband but warm when required
This was something of an impulse buy but it wasn't until a few wears that I realised why I haven't had an item like this all along. I have previously worn a skull cap during warmer winter and spring rides but the cooler-head option is so much more comfortbale. Merino wool blend certainly feels more comfortable and wicks well. There is the sensation that the band seems to be slipping down when you are wearing a helmet but it may just be an ungrounded perception on my part. For reference I have a 56cm head and this does not feel overly tight, more a relaxed grip on the head. The band is thick enough to cover the ears fully whilst leaving the crown exposed. I would consider other items in the merino lineup as the temperature regulation really is superb.

Does its job
Does its job but could be better. With a large head after using it once I noticed the seam stitching has all snapped and undone. Easily remedied by using elasticated thread I assume. This hasn't effected its performance but it is sort of all undone on the inside. Like I said, still works, it's comfy and I'd buy it again- just needs a v2 to sort the seam

It doesn’t get any better than this
Merino. Queen of sheep. Regarded by many as having the finest and softest wool of any sheep, bred since the 13th Century. Before the 18th Century, the export of Merinos from Spain was a crime punishable by death - but thankfully now they are bred around the world which means canny manufacturers like Rapha can turn them into wonderful pieces of clothing and accessories to enhance both our riding - and off-bike -experience. And so to the product in question. A simple, yet classic, timeless and stylish headband containing just the right amount of elastication to comfortably fit a wide range of head circumferences. I have a head of circumference of 54cm while my husband, who is also a completely different gender to me, has a head of circumference 57cm - yet, incredibly, this headband not only fits us both, man and woman, beautifully (although not at the same time! HAHAHAHAHAA!), but also looks equally stylish on each of us (although perhaps a little more on me, since my nose is more confident).
The black colourway complements most skintones and hair colours although I particularly like it against my blonde hair, while its generous width works well to conceal those pesky greys around the hairline. It fits snugly under a helmet, and I won’t even comment on wearing it without a helmet because you never don’t wear a helmet, right? RIGHT.
I put the headband to the test in a variety of situations - espresso, cappuccino, and even Earl Grey tea (milk not lemon) - I’m pleased to report it stayed in place comfortably and created none of those annoying seam-lines on the forehead which can otherwise totally ruin one’s post-ride allure.
In summary I believe this to be one of the most useful uses of merino wool I have come across in my considerable years of living. I like it, and I think you will too.

Strangely more useful than I imagined
Fine merino meadband works really well to keep my ears warm when a full hat is too much. Really good for running or combining with a cycling cap. Small enough to slip in a pocket to bring out when the ears get cold. Size wise I have a large head and this still stretches and fits fine.

Superb headband
Great piece of kit! Simple and very functional - I use it to add extra warmth on early mornings together with my Winter cap - and also on it own while trailrunning!

Wide and warm
A nice Band for cold days. Softer and wider than other brands I have. Which means it covers the ears properly and it doesn’t slide up exposing them during rides.

Perfect - multi functional piece
Great as a headband for warmth, keeping hair out of eyes, under caps/helmets. Use flat and wide or double up and good size for both myself and my husband. Quality good, air and wear or wash under a tap and quick dry if required.

Great Headband
Really nice and comfortable, I have a small head and this fits me perfectly. It does not slide down under the helmet and keeps me warm during cold rides.

How thick is the wool
I would recommend this for late autumn and early spring as opposed to winter. It is not particularly thick, but fits comfortably underneath he helmet.

What weight of merino fabric (e.g., 150, 250) is used for this headband?
