Great quick release but disappointing overall
I used to love Rapha shorts and wouldn’t wear anything else but have gone off them in last couple of years. These sadly won’t be persuading me back.
They’re ok but given how much they cost I would expect them to be perfect. The pad is not the comfiest and is very bulky. I have had chafing on long rides - not something I normally suffer with. The sizing is also a bit off. I had to get a small for the legs to fit but then the shoulders have again rubbed by the end of a long ride.
The quick release for comfort breaks is great and really easy to use. I keep these shorts for shorter rides now and they’re fine for that but overall I am disappointed.

Nice bibs but not perfect
I really like these bibs but they aren't perfect and they are quite expensive. I love the clasp detail so I can easily remove them for a quick bathroom break and they look and feel quite nice. What I don't love is that the back straps and the clasp kind of stick out in the back (there's a big gap between my back and the strap itself.) It's a minor detail but I think it's good to know. I also have a short torso, small waist, and very wide hips. I like the race fit but I'm right on the border for sizes and could probably size up. However, the straps feel a little loose so sizing up might be weird (My waist is 26.5" and my hips are 39.5" I'm 5'3") I like the clasp in the back enough to probably buy them again.

Skip the Light Colours
So I do really love these bibs. They are very comfortable, the drop feature is one of the better ones I’ve tried and the green is very stylish. That being said, the green, being a medium-lighter colour, shows sweat super easy. Since it’s winter I’ve only used them on the trainer indoors but every time I wear them I look liked I’ve peed on myself after an hour. Not the most attractive feature. I am really hoping it won’t be as bad riding outside. I’ve also only used these for shorter rides so the real test will be getting them out on some multi hour outdoor rides in the spring/summer, but so far the chamois on these is probably my favorite out of all my bibs. I recommend but would say stick with super dark colours.

Transformationable
Transformational!
I hate shorts with waist bands. They always roll down and are uncomfortable. I have a bad shoulder so can’t fiddle around on the ride with normal bib shorts. I’m 75 years old and am just back from riding from the Channel to the Med over. 13 days. These shorts made it so much more pleasurable. Thank you!

Fabulous detachable bib shorts, the best!
Absolutely love these bib shorts! Worn them for every ride since their purchase, so comfortable, great fit and quality and much admired colour. Chamois just right for any distance 40km to 100km plus rides and release at the back for quick pee stops is perfect.

Hurrah for detachable bibs
I now have 2 pairs of these and won't go back to bibs that are not pee break friendly. Who wants to be undressing during a long sportive or training ride, especially when you are trying to be discreet & there are loads of blokes around? Please add more colours though - I'd love some of these in navy and dark red. The quality is superb and the magnetic clasp is secure and easy to operate. The chamois is very comfortable - I've ridden up to 220 km in these bibs.

Great shorts
Fabric of the shorts is little bit tighter than I expected and it’s great. It support leg muscles and I guess it lasts longer good looking and feeling (when wash shorts in washing machine). Padding is a bit large, but during the biking I don’t feel it uncomfortable. Detachable mechanism is useful. As a woman, you don’t have to take off the shirt while going toilet. Taking off the shirt and maybe jacket means cold if you ride autumns and also summertime shirt will be dirty (arms are covered with sun screen lotion and then you have to take on and off you outer layers while going toilet). So really convenient!

Best bibs
I love these shorts! I had a pair from a few seasons ago and then they come out with this new color I had to get another pair! I found my self always reaching for these since they are so convenient to unclip when your out riding! I’d love to see these in a short version. I’m 5’3 and these work for my height just fyi but a slightly shorter version might be more flattering

Are the chamois measurements the same for all sizes?
The chamois in these bibs is size specific.

I ride w a camelbak on endurance rides/races. Will that clasp hit against the canelbak and bother or rub? anyone with ride experience with this?
This would depend on where the Camelback that you have hits your back.
It should not be an irritation issue and we have not heard of this being a problem at all.

Could you give the measurements for the widest and smallest part of the chamois please. Some chamois pads are not wide enough for me.
This chamois measures 12cm at the at the nose and 23cm at the widest point at the back.

Hi I’ma short person. 5”2 137 lbs I’m weird size 38/39 chest and about 39 hips. I have tried on shorts and they ride down the belly in the front because a little belly fat friend recommended the detachable bibs. What size would I go to small or medium
Based on your measurements we recommend trying a size Small. Or, if you would like, you can purchase a Small and a Medium and send the one that does not fit back to us for a refund.

How does the pad compare to the one in the Cargo shorts? I found that one to be too thick.

The inseam length of these bibs in a size Medium is 24 cm and goes up or down from size to size by 0.5 cm

I am long waisted. I haven't been able to wear bibs without them cutting into my shoulders. How flexible it the upper body fabric to stretch comfortably over the body?
This upper body is very flexible, even more so that our other bib shorts.
