Chapter 8: Pro Team Shadow

Performance and protection without compromise on comfort. Dialled for your hardest efforts on the most unpredictable days.

Pro Team Shadow is the ultimate winter training system for changeable conditions. Engineered and fine tuned with WorldTour athletes, a new high-stretch fabric offers optimal comfort and freedom of movement, whilst a proprietary microporous membrane keeps you protected from adverse weather.

ENGINEERED FOR WINTER PERFORMANCE

The Pro Team Shadow range was created to meet the demands of riding and racing through the toughest environments. Developed with insight from World Tour riders and rigorously tested in the climate chambers at Leeds Beckett University, every piece is designed to perform when conditions are at their worst.

Riders asked for a better alternative to traditional rainwear. Garments which are more aerodynamic with greater versatility and built for consistent effort in changeable weather. The result is a close-fitting, weather-resistant system that balances protection, breathability and speed.

“We opted for high-stretch fabrics for comfort across a range of body types and an all over membrane to eliminate cold-spots. This combination hits the sweet spot between protection and breathability, so you can head out and ride in changeable conditions whilst remaining totally comfortable.”

– James Stannard, Head of Product Management at Rapha.

WHEN TO WEAR

Pro Team Shadow has been engineered to excel in changeable, damp and windy conditions.

Offering exceptional protection, the Pro Team Shadow Jacket is optimised for temperatures between -2 - 5°C, whilst the Pro Team Shadow Jersey and Gilet are designed for approximately 5-12°C.

PRO LEVEL PROTECTION

Pro Team Shadow uses a proprietary, single layer microporous membrane with PFAS free water resistance. It’s lightweight and breathable for high-tempo efforts, but still keeps out wind and rain. Tested and proven in the WorldTour by EF Pro Cycling athletes, it significantly reduces reliance on heavy layering.

Noah Streif of EF Education-Aevolo asserts that: “The Shadow Winter Jacket was a game changer for winter riding. It effortlessly keeps out wind and cold in temperatures where I would be piling on three or four layers previously.”

Taped critical seams also increase protection from the elements, ensuring you can stay comfortable and protected even when the conditions turn.
