PRO TEAM: EVERY SECOND COUNTS

Three days in the fast life. We put the new Pro Team Collection through its paces in the spiritual home of the European training camp: Mallorca.

Two words that spell seasons' beginning. Every year before the spring has sprung, riders head for a tune up in warmer climes. Big hours on pristine roads that seem to have been laid for the sole purpose of riding. Quality preparation only interrupted by much needed feed stops and bookended with recovery time, ideally next to a pool. This is training camp. With Jess van Droogen Broeck, Alassan Farah, Yurt Mermer, Toby Perry and Benji Tuchner.

  • DAY 1:

The ideal opening training ride. Short, sharp, repeated efforts to get the legs firing on Cap Formentor.

  • DAY 2:

Longer, steadier, no less intense. A day where exta storage is necessary, traversing the heart of the Serra Tramuntana.

  • DAY 3:

Leaving it all out on the road. A fast and furious loop in changing conditions, aiming for terminal velocity in our fastest jerseys.

  • NEW PRO TEAM COLLECTION

Training, Cargo, Aero. Three Pro Team systems used by our riders to get the most out of each high-intensity ride.

DAY ONE

DAY ONE

CAIMARI - CAP DE FORMENTOR.

123KM. 2533m.

Cap de Formentor is essential when time is short in the Balearics, but the headland often holds surprises, notably in the form of extreme wind. The approach from Sóller is designed for sharp, repeated efforts; there are no easy spins here, and the work begins immediately. The Coll de sa Batalla offers the ideal gradient for inter-group battle, testing the legs before a brief moment of composure at the summit. Turning toward the day’s objective, the ten-kilometre stretch into Pollença provides a high-speed arena for an impromptu chaingang, a prelude to the peninsula intervals. Here, sixty, thirty, and fifteen-second bouts see lactic acid accumulate in what feels like litres. The lighthouse finally crests into view: a safe haven and the definitive end to the day’s efforts.

PRO TEAM TRAINING

The Pro Team Training System is built to withstand the relentless demands of your hardest training rides. High-stretch fabrics provide a supportive, second-skin fit that remains locked in for unrestricted movement and all-day comfort. Serious mileage is supported by evolved bib shorts, featuring a Pro Team Training Chamois and an exclusive fabric designed to endure the rigour of repeated efforts. New lightweight leg grippers offer improved thermoregulation during high-intensity intervals.

DAY TWO

DAY TWO

BUNYOLA TO SA CALOBRA.

126km. 2828m.

Unlike the sharp bursts of the peninsula, today is a study in sustained pressure through the Serra de Tramuntana, the spine of mountains that rises on the west of the island, creating a network of long climbs guarding coves that beckon you down and punish you on the way back up. First up is an ascent of the Puig Major: a long, metronomic grind where the legs have a chance to wake up, find their rhythm, start to burn, and wish they’d gone back to bed again. The roads here unfurl in great, sweeping turns, demanding a flow that borders on the hypnotic. Fewer stops are on the cards today, and fuelling is key. Today’s final effort is Sa Calobra, Antonio Parietti’s other tarmac masterpiece, spanning twenty-six hairpins and nearly ten kilometres. The descent is the ideal combination of flowing and technical, typified by the 270-degree ‘knot’ bend that has become Antonio’s pièce de résistance. The climb back up, however, is a tough, steady winch from sea level. A 7% average that feels like double digits has the group reaching for their leg pockets.

PRO TEAM CARGO

There will be rides where your time in the saddle increases, but the intensity doesn’t drop, and you’ll need essentials close at hand. Integrated pockets on each leg of the new Pro Team Cargo shorts mean you can be self-sufficient at high speed, easily fitting food, fuel or your phone. Designed to be worn in combination with the Pro Team Jersey II, which has been updated with a new lightweight body material and mesh sleeves for improved breathability during high-tempo efforts. These are the components you’ll need to maintain the pace on your longest, fastest days.

DAY THREE

BUNYOLA TO PALMA VIA PORT D’ANDRATX.

110km. 2017m.

The final dawn. Conditions are set for a rapid few hours to cement the gains. Speedwork is on the cards. A hunt for terminal velocity in a series of sprints that leave the riders begging for the lap button. Heading south. Through and off with relentless rhythm. The average pace nudges higher. Efficiency is the order of the day. Cutting through the air with a minimum of fuss. Then, the sky turns black and promptly unleashes a heavy downpour. The pace ratchets again. A collective agreement to get home after being well and truly hosed.

PRO TEAM AERO

PRO TEAM AERO

A result of obsessive reduction, the Pro Team Aero system is made to move quicker than ever before. Maximal Gains. Wind tunnel certified and proven on the podiums of the WorldTour. Every thread, seam and dimple is poured over, resulting in our most rapid jersey and bib short combination. Precisely engineered to be fitted, focused and faster. The new Pro Team Long Sleeve Aero Jersey II and Pro Team Aero Jersey III feature our most engaged fit, working with the body for the highest velocity efforts.
