How do I book?
Bookings are made online, where you can see what bikes are available in which locations. When you collect, you’ll be asked to read and sign the waiver and terms and conditions.
How do I know my size?
If you’re unsure of your size, please use Canyon’s Perfect Positioning System to calculate which frame size you should hire.
Can I race this bike?
No. All warranty and damage liability waivers will become null and void. You would be liable for the full price of the bicycle in the case of any damage.
Can I hire a bike for friends and family?
No, you may only hire a bike for yourself to ride. Hiring a bike for another person would violate the Terms and Conditions of hire.
Can I travel with a hired bike?
No, bikes cannot be flown with or taken beyond a reasonable distance of their hire location.
What do I need to bring when I pick up my bike?
Members must provide their own shoes, clipless pedals, helmet, bidons, lights and any other equipment required to ensure their safety and comfort.
You’ll also need to present photo ID at the time of hire.
We also recommend a saddle bag with a tube and levers, like this.
How do I measure my saddle height?
Measure the distance in centimetres between the centre of your crankset and the top of your saddle on your current bike, in the middle of the saddle rails.
When can I collect my bike?
You can collect your bike from the designated Clubhouse during opening hours on the first day of hire. Find all Clubhouse opening hours here.
How long does it take to collect a bike?
We ask that you allow 30 minutes to collect or return a bike. This allows time to sign the appropriate paperwork, ensure the bike is set up to your preference, and check that everything is in working order.
Can I collect early?
Early collection can be arranged in rare circumstances, subject to availability. Adding a day incurs an additional day's hire charge.
Why is the Damage Waiver included in the cost of hire?
In order to better protect members from the hazards associated with cycling, we’ve included the Bike Hire Damage and Theft Liability Waiver in the daily cost of hire for all members. This makes bike hire as stress-free as possible for members by removing the concern that, should something unfortunate happen, you would be left with the bill.
What happens if I damage a bike, or it is stolen?
You should contact either the Clubhouse or the local Chapter Coordinator immediately in the case of damage or theft. The RCC provides a supplementary damage and theft liability waiver, included in the price of hire. This waiver won’t apply if you breach the terms and conditions of hire. You can see the full waiver here. All bikes will be thoroughly inspected upon return. If a bike is returned damaged we will contact you within 48 hours.
Can I read the hire terms and conditions before I collect my bike?
Of course, you can find them here.
How much notice does a Coordinator need for bike bookings?
Bookings must be made at least two days in advance. The furthest in advance a bike can be hired is 8 weeks. At times of high demand, try to book as far in advance as possible to avoid disappointment.
