Beware: The two logo t-shirts I bought at last year's sample sale were NOT of the same quality as the other ones I have bought online. Maybe a good idea to double-check other items as well?

What's a 'sample sale' ?
I'm tempted to travel down, but how do I know they'll have my size ?

Worth the trip, even if you only pop over the road for a Flat White at Nude Espresso's Roastery in the Old Truman Brewery, a curry at lunchtime, a pint in The Pride of Spitalfields, fish and chips at poppies, followed by a Jack the Ripper walk.
You never have to leave brick Lane.
If you bag yourself a pair of gloves at the sample sale, then it's a Brucie bonus.

Does anyone know if there will be a restock for the Saturday and Sunday? Bottom line is I could get there for Saturday but it would be a wasted journey if all the decent stuff goes on the Friday.

Yeah the sale's rubbish, a couple of XXXXXL gilets and nothing else. I wonder even bother going if I were you. Especially if you're my size.
Seriously though, I went to the one in August and I got 3 SS jerseys, 2 LS jerseys, three pairs of armwarmers, a pair of leg warmers, four pairs of socks and a t-shirt for £310.

Should be online , to make it fair for us poor northerners,
Just have to wait and see what the ebay tossers are asking for the sale goods next week.

How early do people normally start queuing for these sales ?
And is there likely to be anything in popular sizes ? i.e. medium for me !
Joe Hall
25th January 2012 06:24pm
People have been known to arrive two hours before opening. There will be a full range of sizes available, but obviously more on offer the earlier you get there…

Excellent Ebay is now full of Rapha "sample sale" gear ! If this is the way that it always goes, and it is why bother Rapha ?
You clearly invest heavily in the brand which undoubtedly is very strong and then cheapen it in this way.
In essence as a Rapha customer I feel slighted and insulted. Next year open the doors "online only" and connect with your customers that way like you do 99% of the time in any case. Major fashion brands do this very well (Allsaints).
Otherwise why not go the whole hog and just do car boot sales !
