Wear Your Story
The people, events and clothing that create a story.
Tell us your riding stories on Rapha’s Facebook page and win a pair of Rapha Jeans.
Rapha have always celebrated stories. Stories from all over the world of road racing: Famous victories, infamous calamities, tales of the underdog, villains, heroes and most importantly, the personal experiences of racing and riding. At the centre of why we love the sport and the culture is the stories we can all create, tell and discover.
And what other sport can match road riding’s capacity to convey drama, spirit, pain and anguish in the apparel of its combatants. Whether it’s the salt stains on a base layer after a full day into a headwind, or bib shorts shredded by high-speed tarmac, road riders are unique in the extent to which they ‘wear’ their story.
Now Rapha is looking for inspiring examples of customers who wear their own story, too. By way of example here’s Tom Ennis, a Rapha customer in New York, to explain:
“Three weeks ago, while wearing my favourite Rapha Country Jersey, I went down in what I was told was a rather spectacular crash. Sitting somewhat dazed on the ground, I was quickly attended to by other cyclists and the driver of a car who had witnessed my mishap and immediately called for medical attention. I realized pretty quickly that I had not broken my collar bone or anything serious, so I declined their offers of help, remounted my bike, and pedaled another five miles to a hospital where I knew I could get my road rash cleaned up.
By now you are probably asking why I’m telling you this. You should know that even though I was a pretty ugly sight from the road rash, the primary concern from the cyclists who saw me was rather different. “Wow, I can’t believe you ruined that shirt. That’s a Rapha jersey, right? That sucks.” The story doesn’t end there. The doctor who attended to me entered into a huge debate with his nurse about whether or not the jersey could be saved. He thought it could. Seems he was a cyclist as well.”

If you’ve had a riding experience wearing a Rapha product that you think is worth sharing, we’d like to hear from you. And we’re not just looking for crash-related stories, either. Perhaps you’ve mashed the mesh on your lucky Rapha bibs after years of riding Alpine cols. Or maybe, marooned far from home, you boiled up your gloves to make soup…
Whatever it is, simply upload the details in words and/or images to Rapha’s Facebook page, remembering to include the name of the Rapha product and the location of the story.
