Visit From the Pros

Just as we had finished talking about the Team Sky launch and how exciting it all is, a few of the squad stopped by at the Rapha office here in London. Norwegian Champion Kurt-Asle Arvesen, Juan Antonio Flecha and Michael Barry paid a visit to say hello and also grab a few pieces of kit. Michael can be seen on the Team Sky site sporting a Rapha Long Sleeve Jersey on a training ride, so he must have recommended us to his new team-mates (and yes, we did give them a discount).

Would have been nice to see Team Sky kitted out in Rapha although I guess the price would have been way,way high with the 'big corporates' battling for sponsorship.
Imagine that, a British team, in British kit, riding a British bike…I'm about to break into Land of Hope and Glory!!!

Good point Andy!! The power of Rupert Murdoch is getting to everyone. A Q&A with Rapha Condor Sharp's British Champion (Krisitian House) is coming soon.

thats right Andy and Joe but they will be riding round Lincoln and Beverley not in the Pyrennes and Alps!!
I've got a lot of time for the domestic teams but Brailsford doesn't seem to do anything by halves and thats where the general public and the media's attention will be focussed.!!

Nigel
You should see the race programme for Rapha Condor Sharp, yes the British premiers but also all over the world.
2009 saw the team on all continents doing very well.
Only today did the team take a fine 2nd Place in the Australian Crit Champs through Dean Windsor.
But yes you make a very good point Nigel,Sky shall take all the media attention so we have to raise our game which I'm sure can be done.

Rapha should help them out with the kit design. For god sakes the sky logo is just floating in no man's land like a cheap semi custom jersey. I love simple but come on, there is not thought put in to that at all
