Cent Cols Challenges

100 cols, 10 days – a unique journey that tests the body and spirit in equal measure.

The Cent Cols Challenge is the brainchild of endurance rider Phil Deeker, and his determination, commitment to riding and will to explore has created one of the ultimate tests of what is possible on a road bike. All of these trips take place across Europe, criss-crossing entire mountain ranges to combine the classic routes and climbs from the Grand Tours with lesser-known back-country gems.

2017 marked a significant anniversary for the Cent Cols story with the passing of ten years of challenges. To celebrate both the milestone and his 60th birthday, Phil challenged himself to complete the “Ride of a Thousand Cols” – ten CCCs ridden back-to-back across some of Europe's most challenging roads. Cent Cols veterans united with first time riders to accompany Phil on the ten trips, totalling over 20,000km and 500,000m of elevation, starting with a warm welcome in Corsica and finishing with the crown jewel of Cantabrico, the most epic of Cent Col Challenges. Phil climbed his thousandth col on the 4th October after 100 days of riding. An incredible feat by a remarkable man.

CUSTOMER TESTIMONIALS

I just couldn't have done it alone. I was pushed on by Rapha team's tough love (Phil!), warmth (Louise), smiles (Will) and technical savviness (Chris); and by inspiration from fellow riders

FAQ

Am I strong enough for the trip?

Cent Cols Challenges are the toughest challenge. Our guides will support every rider to go beyond their usual level of riding but you should be able to spend 12 hours in the saddle for multiple days.

How does payment work?

We ask all customers to pay a deposit when they book, which confirms their reservation. The balance is due 60 days before departure – we’ll get in touch to remind you when it’s time. If you book less than 60 days before departure, we’ll ask you to pay the full trip price upfront.
