Made from a soft but supportive Lycra with an insulating Thermoroubaix fleece inner, the shorts are longer in the leg than regular summer-season bibs with a dense mesh back for additional warmth and breathability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great winter bib shorts Warm enough for winter here in northern California, but not too heavy like some of the other products out there, very well made and great fit over all. only a few areas that I can see improvements...the materials located near the lower back (back side of the bibs) it seems to be a bid different than the shorts itself. as the result after you start sweating the fabric feels cold and wet there. is the only spot on the shorts that does that...not sure why. the other small thing is the tags...i don't like were it is. maybe go tagless?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shorts I wear these whenever I go to Tesco to shop, under my dressing gown. They even have a pocket for my cigarettes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really nice bibs Excelent finish, but they seems to be larger than my ordinary ProTeam Bibs. I rekomend size L if you have the Pro Team Bibs in XL.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for cold weather These have got to be the most comfortable shorts I've ever worn. I bought them as I gained a bit of weight and some older thermal shorts I had were a bit snug. I didn't think about the thermal aspect of the shorts until I started noticing that I was doing rides and I was the only one without tights or leg warmers. I don't think the temp ever got below the mid 30s (2-3 C), so it wasn't all that cold. I rode with a wool base layer, pro team jacket, and had a gilet for the decents. I think the best compliment you can give to bib shorts is that you don't notice wearing them. Meaning you don't feel any discomfort. Well, that about sums it up. That and I was definitely kept warmer than I expected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An excellent product for most conditions I'm usually either a bib shorts or bib tights rider...but after reading a few reviews, I thought perhaps I was missing a trick. Sometimes tights are too warm for anything above, say, 10 degrees. Similarly, shorts can be too cool - especially with windchill - below about 20 degrees. These thermal shorts are the mid-ground, although 'thermal' perhaps gives the wrong impression. They have a fleecy lining, which is perfect for cool days, while the very fact they're shorts allow the rider to stay cool when the temperature ramps up. I feel a bit silly at not having wised up to how well shorts like these suit temperatures between about 8/10 degrees up to 18/20 - ie most of the time. Paired with knee warmers, they're perfect for all but the hottest or coldest days. The pad is comfortable and, for me at least (5ft 8; 10-and-a-half stone), small is a good fit. Now to get a second pair...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect 3 season shorts. I love the PT thermal shorts. They somehow manage to be perfectly breathable up to 15 deg C, yet keep the cold at bay down to single figures degrees. I wear mine paired with leg warmers to just above freezing, which is great as the pad is so comfortable I hate having to make the switch to tights. The fit is slightly compressive which I personally prefer, they stay in place and are fine for hours in the saddle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect addition to the Rapha Pro Team Line Just received the Rapha Thermal Pro Team Bibs and sure enough, the weather turned cooler. This gave me perfect excuse to take the bibs for a ride. You will find a perfect blend of fit, performance, and style that will make these you favorite bibs. You will wish the temperatures will stay cold all year round.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic product -- comfortable and warm Amazingly warm and comfortable for cool spring and fall rides. Definitely warmer than unlined pro-team shorts, these shorts hit all the marks for fit, comfort, and an added bit of warmth from the fleece lining. Brilliant and indispensable.

How much longer are the thermal bibs vs the non-thermal pro team bibs?

Asked by: erictse88
Hi, the Pro Team Thermal Bib Shorts are approx 2cm longer than the Pro Team Bib Shorts.

Like with all bib shorts and tights manufacturers always give information on the recommended inside leg and waist, but being a slim tall rider the length of the torso is equally important for comfort. Can you confirm what size ideally the L is meant for?

Asked by: Tall rider
It is hard to advise on the specific nature of the torso sizing as we all differ in shape and form. We would suggest you use the measurement as per the size guide to ensure correct fit around the waist and leg. We do offer a free 90 day return period should the shorts not fit.

How does the material of the Thermal ProTeam bibs compare to the ProTeam winter thights with pad?

Asked by: Kristian0304
Hi. While essentially offering the same warmth properties the Thermal Pro team bib shorts are made from Thermoroubaix Fleece inner with the main fabric being 87% Nylon, 13% Elastane and the mesh 'bib' being made from 92% Polyester 8% Elastane. The Pro Team Thermal Winter Tights with pad are made from 53% polyester, 31% polyurethane, 16% elastane with the bib section being also 92% polyester, 8% elastane

How does the material on these compare to the classic winter tights? I'm considering switching to shorts and leg warmers but would like to know if I'll get the same thermal properties.

Asked by: Mbartlett78
The Pro Team Thermal bibs have a Thermoroubaix fleece inner, with a dense mesh back for additional warmth and breathability. The Classic Winter tights also have a Thermoroubaix fabric but have a brushed fleece inner throughout for maximum insulation.

Having owned a pair of these excellent bibs, I've found them great for ridding in...but not so good for walking into the cafe in!..lets just say there a tad "aggressively" cut in the pad area! Are all Rapha bibs taylored the same in the padded area?
