Rapha’s WorldTour bib shorts, improved

With a completely overhauled design for 2017, the Pro Team Bib Shorts II were designed for training and racing in the world’s biggest races. Rapha has worked hard to improve the comfort of these bib shorts, with a new dual-density chamois pad that provides more support and comfort even under duress. The pad changes in thickness according to your size (previously, one size pad was used in all bib shorts), ensuring a superior fit.

The bibs have a unique thigh gripper printed directly onto the fabric of the shorts, making for a low profile finish that supports your legs with fewer seams. The upper section of the bibs has also been re-engineered to provide more stretch and support, with less pressure over your shoulders. Folded bonded edges on each upper strap allow for a low profile underneath your jersey, and the multiple colour options allow for greater matching with other Pro Team products.

The bibs are available in two lengths, regular and long, with a difference between leg lengths of approximately 1 inch. Long shorts are for taller riders or those who prefer more thigh coverage. The leading edge of Rapha performance technology, for the edge of your saddle.

Reviews

"I tested a pair of the previous generation Pro Team shorts in 2013, and they're still part of my regular cycling wardrobe, and showing no sign of falling apart. I've been riding with these new Pro Team II shorts as much as possible over the past couple of months, wearing them as soon as they've dried from a wash, and thus far durability has been similarly impressive."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best bibs ever! Bring 6’5 and having seriously long legs, being able to choose “long” is absolutely amazing. This combined with the comfy chamois, makes these bibs my all time favourite. Also the fact that this product is completely black, even the logos, makes it a winner for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are the best bibs I've tried. I have not tried any longer rides, but for a few 70k rides they feel just awesome. I have two pairs of Pro Team bibs from before which I love but these feel even better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit At 6'1" bibs can be annoying to buy. While height requires a longer strap, being (or at least trying to be) lean calls for a smaller size for a better fit in the shorts. The straps on the mediums don't feel restrictive and the chamois is mega comfy. I put in a 220km ride on a second outing and they didn't feel packed out at all. Only complaint would be the chamois is placed ever so slightly far back for my.. but that's getting nit-picky!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly recommended Simply the best bib I have ever had. Originally I bought the classic bib, but it is way to low in the back, leaving a gap between the bib and the jersey. The prob bib however fits perfectly and is a bit tighter with the shoulder straps. Great piece of cycling wear so far. I am 180cm and 82 kg. Bought a L and it fits well.

Hi, I wear a medium in the classic bibs, 32inch waist. Which size is recommended in the Pro's. Thank you.

Asked by: smithy70
The Pro Team Range has a closer race fit then our other garments, so you could try a large in our Pro Team collection.

Is this the same pad as the brevet II bibs? I have both and they both seem to have the perforated design to help it dry faster, am I correct?

Asked by: Neibl
The Pad is designed specifically for the race fit Pro Team range. Rapha has worked hard to improve the comfort of these bib shorts, with a new dual-density chamois pad that provides more support and comfort even under duress. The pad changes in thickness according to your size (previously, one size pad was used in all bib shorts), ensuring a superior fit.

Hi I'm still in two minds, what are the distinct difference between the Pro Team Bib 2 and the Pro Team Lightweight Bib. I'm stuck as I don't know weather to get these or the Bundle off for the lightweights. Advice will be appreciated thanks.

Asked by: Georgey6102
The choice is a matter of personal preference. Both of these garments will have a race fit but the Lightweight has a thinner material and is lighter garment. Being a racing garment the technical specificities of this product do mean that this garment does have a "race fit" therefore the garment may fit more tighter in places such as the elastic around the leg, as this is designed to be as close fitting as possible to allow a more aerodynamic performance.

Hello currently using sky training bib shorts with solid blue band on left leg 2015 version I think. What bib shorts would be the closest fit to these and what length if applicable. Cheers

Asked by: John968
The Closest garment to our previously issued Sky bib Shorts would either be the Core Bib Shorts if they were the replicas or the Pro Team Shorts if they were the Pro Team version of the Sky Shorts.

The one-size-fits-all chamois in the previous Pro Team Bib Short has worked very well for me, but the 2017 version so far does not. Which size chamois in the 2017 shorts is closest to the one-sized chamois in the old shorts?

Asked by: covfefe
The Pad has been completely overhauled and is technically designed for a race fit and to suit the requirements of a specific size. We use a new dual-density chamois pad for supreme comfort and support and there is not a comparison with the 2016 model.

Are these longer or shorter than last years version? By how much? I am a medium.

Asked by: Trustcop
The length of the garment is the same as last years version.

What is the inseam length on the long cut version of the bibs shorts? The actual short inseam length as opposed to the size guide for full leg length inseam.

Asked by: DanL
For the long version these start at XS 26cm and increase by 1cm as the sizes go up. For example S is 27CM and M 28cm etc to XXL.
