Technical cycling tights for very cold conditions

These high-performance cycling bib tights have been created to provide maximum protection in harsh conditions without compromising the rider’s range of movement. Designed to be worn over padded cycling shorts, the legs of the tights feature pre-bent knees for a superior fit, and which will also aid pedal strokes. The body of the tights are made from a heavier weight, fleece-lined fabric which is highly breathable and reinforced in key areas.

The front of the legs have windproof panels and there is a harder wearing fabric at the seat, which is abrasion-resistant, water-repellent and includes reinforced stitching. The chest and rear leg panels use a thinner fabric that works with your base layer and jersey to prevent overheating. Offset seams are positioned to prevent chafing and the bibs are made from a strong, breathable black mesh.

Other styling includes white panels on the lower back and a reflective white stripe down the back of the left leg. The stirrups of the tights provide extra support, use a durable binding and can be folded inside if not required. The left-hand shoulder features a pink tab with Rapha logo and the top of the seat panel has a printed ‘WHEELSUCKER’ motto to encourage your training partners (or provoke your enemies).

Reviews:

There’s a lot of attention to detail, with pre-bent knees and a hard-wearing, water-resistant seat panel. The result is a beautifully cut, comfortable product that’s exceptionally warm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wind pants for multi use Bought this winter pants a month ago. Have bicycle with the pants in -11 deg C without feeling cold. As there is no seat padding the pants works as well for running and gyming. For eastern I will use the pants for country skiing .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thin but warm! Really nice winter pants. I had´ve not tested them in below zero celsius degrees yet, but nearly, and I think they will perform well. I have used them in rain and cold wind and they are perfect. I think they are a bit to thin on the knees but that's just a little and I will use knee warmers when it get's below zero. They are very tight which is good but if you have big leg muscles you should go for a bigger size.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Deep winter tight Well, to be honest these are great tights for dry winter riding. I'm disappointed that the waterproofing doesn't run higher up the back side. I was riding last night in the snow but the roads were wet...slushy.....my back was soaking and cold...had to head home early. I'm 5'11 and weigh 175 lbs - the large are constricting to the point of discomfort. I'm looking to return sadly for these reasons. Having said that, these are nicely appointed tights with great design and quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another great Rapha product! Living in Minnesota where winter riding often involves single digit temperatures (Fahrenheit), I depend on cold weather gear to extend my riding season. Like most every Rapha product I have ever owned, this one delivers what it promises. Windproof. Sheds snow and sleet. Comfortable on long rides. Remember that this bib is worn OVER one's cycling bib. It is non-padded and in my experience runs true to the sizes recommended on the website. It is supposed to fit snug and without bunching at the flexion points of the knees. I am 6'0", 160lbs and the medium fits perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit and very warm, plus look nice These are great. I actually wear my normal Ralph bibs with the deep winter socks and the winter or the deep winter base layer under. These tights are made to wear over your padded bibs or shorts. The fit is perfect. I wear a long sleve jersey or my softshell jacket as the outter layer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not the same as my original Deep Winter Tights These are a replacement to my well worn and loved Deep Winter Tights. The new ones seem to run small_ more short. Maybe I need to break them in. I also noticed the stitching is showing some fraying just after two rides. I just question the construction and quality now. Was there a change? Rapha does stand behind their product, and I am rough on my clothing. Overall they are warm and I do like them. We will see.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super warm. Excellent fit. I live in Chicago, and frequently train in temps around 20F. So far I've had these out in 15F temps, and they were very comfortable. A little constrictive, given the fact that you have to wear bib shorts underneath, but that's to be expected as you layer up for warmth.

Hello ,I'm 34 waist x 30 length which size do you recommend?   Thanks  Dan

Asked by: Daniel65
Hi, It is hard to advise on the size truly as we all differ in shape and form a little. You are in the middle of M and L and as such we would suggest that you try the medium. We do have a free 90 day return period should you need to exchange.

I'm 1.88m tall and about 78kg and currently wear a medium for the classic bib shorts and a large for the Rapha leg warmers. Am I likely to be better with M or L for the winter tights?

Asked by: ryanshort
Hi, We would suggest the size medium as per your shorts sizing. We do have a free 90 days returns period should you need to exchange.
