The new standard in lightweight outer layers

The Core Rain Jacket is the ideal outer layer for rides with a chance of rain and wind. Extremely lightweight, it folds down small to comfortably fit in your back pocket, ready to be whipped out when it starts raining or the wind picks up. Colour matched throughout, the jacket has a clean, refined finish with collar tipping and a subtly stitched-in Rapha armband.

The jacket has fully taped seams and an AquaGuard® zip for waterproofing. Six ventilation holes under the armpits allow heat to escape if you’re riding hard while the on-bike fit is aided by an adjustable draw cord at the hem and elasticated inner cuffs, which ensure a perfect fit on your wrists. Reflective elements have also been applied to the sleeves and rear for improved visibility on the roads.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Very light and packable. Fully waterproof. It's a little short at the back, which is a shame.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb lightweight rain jacket I bought this as a replacement for an old jacket by another brand and I can say that it is the best weight rain jacket I have ever owned. It is very light, packs down well to be stowed in a jersey pocket & keeps the rain out. I am 6'3" with long arms and a long back, I bought size large. Perfect sleeve length and whilst a little shorter in the back than I am used to, it covered rear pockets well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it says on the tin! Bought for a trip up to Kielder forest where I took my CX bike for some off road fun. Weather was quite chilly with on off rain. The jacket was great kept the wind and rain at bay! Very happy rider.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight, packable, and almost waterproof! I wore this on three separate occasions under heavy downpour and reasonably cool weather of 45-50. Kept my core warm and dry, with only parts of my neck getting a little damp. the hands have an elastic rubber sort of material that covers up your wrist, and it's very easy to tuck under gloves. I haven't yet tried it in warm weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight Jacket for Emergencies and descents. The jacket is light and easily fits in a jersey pocket. You won't notice it is there. Used it on multiple 7 klm descents yesterday. Stopped the rain and wind easily. No flapping, fits like a glove. However, the jacket is on the short side, doesn't stop spray hitting your backside. Breathability is ok. I wear size M in Core and Classic jerseys, M in the jacket is perfect. The yellow color is bright, the red not so much...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Looks and really functional I bought this 2 months ago and it has been used often in the Scottish 'Spring' time. Greta piece of kit that is now a never ride without item

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant lightweight rain jacket This jacket is perfect for my daily commute and is also pretty nifty with a pair of jeans when I walk between the two offices where I work. On cooler mornings it works well at keeping out the cold and then packs away really small when it's too warm to wear it. I've recently worn this in the pouring rain and it did a great job at keeping me dry. Would definitely recommend this for any riders. It could possibly do with being a little bit longer on the back, but I'm not complaining.

The Classic Wind Jacket is resilient against wind and rain and treated with DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment The Core Rain jacket, which is is also resistant against the rain and wind and encompasses a YKK AquaGuard® water-resistant zip with zip guard and garage for comfort. Are the arms lined with the same mesh as the body of the jacket?

Asked by: Leaky1974
The Core Rain Jacket does not have a liner, it is a packable waterproof softshell; the main body is made out of 100% Nylon 2.5 Layer and the sleeves are made out of 100% Nylon 3 Layer.

how much less breathable will this be than the pack jacket? I have a pack jacket, which is great, but thinking about getting something a bit more fully waterproof.

Asked by: geordan
Hi, this jacket offers significantly more water protection that a Pack Jacket. It is still quite breathable but noticeably less so than a Pack Jacket. This really comes down to the difference in intended function for both jackets.

So this jacket is less breathable than your other rain jackets. Is it also less water resistant? Can you rate the breathability and water resistance on this jacket, the Rain Jacket and the Race Cape?

Asked by: fgun
Hi, this jacket is slightly less breathable than our other rain jackets. It is still waterproof. The Pro Team Race Cape is our most breathable jacket and is extremely waterproof.

Would this fit over a blazer/suit jacket for a commute?

Asked by: AlexU
Hi, this is not specifically designed for city riding and you may need to size up for this jacket to fit over your blazer. Another option would be our Hooded Rain Jacket.
