Simple, quality bib shorts for everyday riding

Simple, quality bib shorts to complement any ride, the main panels use a dense-knit fabric for support and modesty and laser-cut leg grippers lined with soft silicone for a close, comfortable fit. The bib section uses high-stretch material, machined efficiently for even distribution of stretch and to accommodate longer torsos. Flatlock seams are positioned carefully throughout to hold the shorts in place without chafing. The shorts are available in an entirely black colourway, or with a white bib section to prevent straps showing under a light-coloured jersey.

If you are unsure of which bib shorts to choose, take a look at our new Bib Shorts Guide »

“The Core collection is about optimising innovative fabrics and processes across the entire collection to reduce production hours and wastage. For example, the leg-gripper trim reappears in the jersey back, the material for the zip guard is used again on the sleeve tips, and bindings use rolled edges. This means we can produce Core garments without compromise, leading to a new standard for everyday cycling apparel.”
Alex Valdman, Creative Director

“I told my $500 Assos bibshorts that I had a new favorite and they slammed the door to the Kuku Penthouse in my face. But it’s the truth. The Core bibs are Rapha’s entry-level offering but they surpass that designation in both price and quality.”
9.3/10 - VeloNews

“Rapha's Core bib shorts are an impressive mix of knowhow from premium ranges – giving good quality, comfort and a great fit.”
★★★★½ Ash Quinlan,

“The bibshorts are a particular highlight of the range. Flatlock seams join smartly-shaped panels, meaning chafing isn’t an issue and Rapha sensibly hasn’t compromised at the heart of the shorts – the Core bibs are built around the original Classic chamois that remains as comfortable as ever. As a result the Core bibshorts punch well above their weight at this price point. It is a similar story with the jersey – the polyester it uses feels more organic than synthetic, and has been treated with an antibacterial process so still smells reasonable even after repeated use.”
★★★★½ Sam Challis,

“Rapha's most affordable bib shorts to date don't skimp on quality or comfort.”
Jim Clarkson,

“For weekday training and commuting, Rapha have totally nailed it. Bravo all round.”
Graham Hutson, The Times

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid bibs in basic black After 350+ miles I am very pleased with the Core Bib Short. Wider bib straps are a plus, easier on and more comfortable. Leg grip is wonderful, stays in place without biting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super comfy I got these for my earlier this month so I could wear them on a long ride in the Peak District. I have had a few very good brands of short before and these are easily the best ones I've had. No chaffs or rubs and still felt fresh at the end of 5 hours in the sun.. would definitely get some more and would definitely recommend..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Core Bib Shorts Like the white tuxedo colour scheme! Fit works for me although it is a tight fit for size, so take care not to go down a size. Nice quality feel to it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic value I wanted to break into the Rapha line of kit. The core bibs only "entry level" in price. The quality is as nice or better than top of the line bibs I have from other companies. Very impressed with fit, quality. Great value for such quality.

Would you recommend this for a 400km ride?

Asked by: Littlecyclist14
The Core Bib shorts do benefit from the same pad as our well known Classic Bib Shorts but I suggest for a longer ride to either go with the Classic or the Brevet.

Hi, I have several pairs of the pro bibs in large tall (with the extra 10 mm). How does the length of the core short compare? I hover around 82k and am 193cm tall.

Asked by: Marcelo Cramerotti
The length of the shorts are the same, The difference is in materials used and the close fit of the Pro Team against the other ranges.

Still a little unsure of sizing: I am 6 feet tall, long legs, short torso, 185 lbs 34 inch waist. I assume a large is best? The only Rapha product I own is a long sleeved jersey in XL which fits perfectly

Asked by: keith ztivokark
The Large size should be ideal for these dimensions.

Size recommendation please. 195 cm tall, 82 cm waist, which puts me middle of M for waist size, XXL for inside leg. Will L be too big in waist? Will a M or L be too short for body/ thigh? Thanks

Asked by: iUUi
Hi, the medium would be the best fit around your waist. You are quite tall and so the shorts may be slightly tight in terms of length but medium would be our best recommendation. As always, we do have a free 90 day returns policy if needed.
