Cold weather warmth, 10 years in the making

The Classic Winter Jacket is our most versatile bad weather jacket, redesigned for the needs of the modern rider. An evolutionary leap ahead from our Classic Softshell and Hardshell, it is the ideal garment for winter base miles, with the ability to withstand the harshest conditions on any kind of ride. Cut from Polartec® Power Shield Pro® fabric, it combines wind- and waterproofing with incredible breathability, efficiently transferring moisture vapour away from the skin while keeping the elements at bay. Added underarm zips allow for increased ventilation when the temperature, or the intensity, rises.

Designed to be used across a range of winter temperatures as part of a layering system, the Classic Winter Jacket features hi-vis detailing for riding in low light, as well as taped seams, waterproof zips and elastane inner cuffs to keep you comfortable and dry, whatever the weather.

“… a high-quality water and wind-resistant jacket that's ideal for tackling any sort of weather you're likely to encounter on a winter ride. It could be the last jacket you'll ever need to buy.”

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Faboulous in the cold I bought this as another jacket for convincing myself to ride more in the cold weather. I also went for the chartreuse for the high vis aspect as my rides here in winter start in the dark and continue for around 45 - 60 minutes before good light. I was trying to get back into more riding after some time off due to surgery and the jacket was a way of convincing (shaming?) myself to get up and go! The jacket was great and I could vary the layers easily from a straight long sleeved base layer on some days or add another short sleeve base layer or even a long sleeve jersey for the zero degrees days. only issue i had was with all those layers and me putting on a bit of beef while off the bike the rear pockets were hard to get into. unzipping helped and the situation has got better the more kms I have done! Very happy with the purchase and the motivation it encouraged and the comfort it provided.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Two become one!!! A hybrid of the old Softshell and hard shell jackets. Very comfortable to ride in performs well in bad weather. An excellent mixture of the finer points of the two old jackets to create one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warmth and a great fit A winter jacket that does all that it sets out to do. It is beautifully warm, is a great fit, super comfortable to wear and looks stylish. A few more dollars than some of the other options but worth every cent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What to wear when head would advise to stay home. This is the ultimate winter jacket. Worn on -2 to 5 celsius rides, under snow, rain and awful wind. The jacket won't let you down, without the need to wear more than one or 2 base layers under it. It is a very warm jacket. I suspect anything above 5-6 celsius ,might make it too warm, but this is definitely the ultimate winter jacket.

Hi - can you please confirm if this jacket is waterproof or just highly water resistant? The product description advises it is waterproof but on reading the Q&A's it appears it is only [highly] water resistant!?!

Asked by: LePet
This garment is fully Waterproof. However, you should re-proof the garment regularly to keep its waterproof properties.

Is this jersey suitable for a standard Cornish winter 5-13? Or would it be too warm in these temperatures?

Asked by: Himatt68
This jacket is designed for winter riding but as we all regulate temperature differently it is hard to advice on the temperature range for individuals and differing exertion levels will also affect its properties.

Is it any possibility to tighten the waist, or is it strechcy? Looks kind of loose around the waist in some of the pictures.

Asked by: Nikolai
There is a draw chord around the waist to adjust the fit of the Jacket

I tried a Pro Team Thermal Aerosuit in large in 2016 and the top part was a bit too small - I should've ordered an XL. I'm now looking for jacket only. How is the sizing of Classic Winter Jacket compared with Pro Team?

Asked by: Ander
The Classic Winter Jacket has a more relaxed fit as opposed to the Pro Team Collection which has a close fitting race fit.

Does this jacket needs the Apparel Re-proofer?

Asked by: criztante
The lifespan of this Jacket will be greater prolonged by regular cleaning and reproofing of the DWR coating that keeps the rain at bay. Over time, it will degrade, leaving the Jacket more susceptible to water, but the reproofing process helps to refresh and renew the waterproof qualities

Hi. I am In between sizes: 1 wear small in the RCC classic 2 jerseys, but 1 fit medium in the pro team aero jersey. Both fir me just right. what size do you recommend I get?

Asked by: Lwix
The Classic Jersey sizing would be the appropriate choice as both items share the same cut and fit, as opposed to the Pro team cut that is more streamlined

I am a medium in the Brevet long sleeve jersey. What size would you recommend in this Jacket?

Asked by: Boundbyblue
Hi, if your Brevet Long Sleeve Jersey fits snug then I suggest sticking to a Medium for the jacket, if it is that your jersey is quite roomy then you may need to downsize as this jacket has a generous/relaxed fit. Should you try a size and need an exchange, we do have a 90 days returns policy.
