A layering system in a single garment

Inspired by the Rapha Brevet credo of ‘pack light, travel far’, the multi-functional Brevet Windblock Jersey fuses into one piece the all-day performance of a lightweight merino jersey, with the wind-protection of a gilet. An overlaid panel made from the fabric of the Rapha Brevet Gilet is stitched on to the front, meaning that you won’t need to carry a windbreaker on tours in milder conditions, or all-day endurance rides. With reflective and hi-vis Brevet stripes on the front and back, and a total of five pockets, this is a versatile, multitasking piece. The prototype of this garment was tried and tested during the Transcontinental race in 2015 - a 4,000km journey across Europe.

Reviews:

“And even if you're not going adventuring, it's ideal for the daily commute, evening training rides, the club run or chillier weekend rides. This is one of those garments that, wet weather aside, works well in a vast range of situations, making a pretty good investment if you want one jersey covers most of the bases.”

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for cool weather I wear this jersey almost like a light short sleeve jacket. With a base layer and wool arm warmers it is extremely versatile. I've even stacked two base layer with this jersey on top in temps under 45F. It blocks wind very well and because the back side is wool, it also breaths. I can normally get two to three wears out of it before washing if I use a base layer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PERFECT All Day Jersey for Changing Weather This jersey has lived up to every expectation! I was looking for a Spring/Fall, even Winter all day jersey to deal with changing weather conditions, and this jersey was all of that and MORE! I start off on a cold morning in 40s with this jersey, base layer & arm warmers. Perfectly comfortable in that temperature range, even been through some rain at those temps and stayed warm dry. By mid morning as sun started to come out and temps hit low 50s, removed arm warmers. By early afternoon, sun and 60s, base layer comes off, jersey perfectly regulating temps. On final push to destination as sun and temps drop back in low 50s/40s, put base layer and arm warmers back on. This jersey took me thru an entire day of riding and changing conditions.... Love It!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm Used with a mesh base layer and arm warmers is a fantastic combination with this shirt. Two surplus pockets that never get used but I'd whole heartedly recommend this shirt for spring and autumn and some of winter. Usually a large, I needed to up 1 size to XL.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seriously warm Bought the medium, and had to return it for a large. I'm a medium in virtually all Rapha gear, even the pro range, but this being the same dimensions as for example, medium Brevet Jersey, due to this jersey's thickness, makes it very tight fitting. I'm 5 11'/ 75 KG. Very good quality and features as you'd expect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great spring jersey This jersey is fantastic for spring. the front material is not as stretchy i assume due to the windblok material. Since i was on the limit i should have gone a size up though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Jersey I have Have to say the block feature is fantastic. Even in warmer weather itis very comfortable and not to hot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great alternative jersey Used it on a century ride with 6k elevation gain on a gloomy socal day. Windy. And slight chill. Wore it with merino gloves, merino arm warmers and merino base layer. Jersey was comfortable and had very good windblocking capability. Eliminating my need to carry a gilet. Saved me a pocket for other essentials necessary for a long day in the saddle.

Are these race fitting? i do have the lightweight jersey in small and that fits pretty snug which i wear a size Small. Are these loser or tighter fitting than the lightweight jersey?

Asked by: VIAS
Hi, this jersey has a slightly more relaxed fit than the Lightweight Jersey. It is not a big difference and we recommend you choose the same size, especially as your Lightweight Jersey fits you snugly.

Is the Brevet wind block jersey similar in cut to the Classics Jersey?

Asked by: santifigs
Hi, this jersey does have a similar fit to the Classic Jersey II. We would recommend ordering the same size in these items.

Morning, does this jersey have merino front & back or just front, would you recommend/ advise wearing a normal baselyer underneath or just the jersey on its own.  Many Thanks

Asked by: PClarke61
Hi, the whole jersey is made from a merino wool blend but there is a polyester front panel, which acts like the Brevet Gilet. You could wear this jersey with or without a base layer, depending on the conditions.

Can you please just clarify that the black brevet windblock jersey has white/grey stripes on the back i.e. same colour stripes as the front & not pink?

Asked by: Spiderman
Hi, the Brevet Windblock Jersey contains the same colour stripes on the back as it does the front. Therefore, the black version has white/grey stripes on the back as well as the front.

Does the black version of this jersey have striping on the back? The photographs only show the back of the navy jersey.

Asked by: andres
Hi, the Windblock Jersey has the same coloured stripe detailing on the back as it does on the front. This applies for both colourways.

Hi there! Does the nylon on the front of the jersey go directly on the skin, or is there a layer of marino wool first, then the nylon wind-blocker stitched to the front? I would imagine it would get quite warm and smelly if it was only nylon?

Asked by: JoeyK
Hi, there is a thin layer of Merino fabric underneath the Nylon front.
