Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, but not as good as last year's model I bought last years sweatshirt and this one falls short. The quality of this one in terms of material is good, but not great like last years one I bought. The fit is more relaxed and not as fitted as least year. Last years had shoulder detail, elbow pads and the zip pocket. This years has the pocket but not the detail. It appears they have tried to cut details out so as to cut costs to maybe make more margin on this years shirt. I want Rapha to stick to the subtle detail and stick to the quality. I want 100% satisfaction rather than 90% when I pay the rapha price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Still a nice sweater, but not as good as before For me, this isn't as good as the previous version. It's not as dense a weave - I sent the yellow version back as you could clearly see the print on the t shirt worn below (not a good look) - and it's cut isn't quite so sharp. Personal preference, I know, but I liked the panels on the shoulder and sleeve: a) there was the sense of something practical about placing them in high wear places, and b) they made the sweater stand out from the rest. Without them, this is another nice sweater but.... That said, the grey version I have added is lovely and soft, warm and goes beautifully with Rapha jeans. Just don't push a buggy while holding a coffee when wearing, them stains don't shift!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classy sweatshirt Bought this without really knowing why but no regrets. Very happy with the look and feel of this product. I wore it in the office with a white collar shirt underneath and someone complimented how smart I was looking. Yet it's still a sweatshirt and easy to match with jeans for a more casual look. I think it's the look of the material and the shade of blue that gives it a classier look than the average sweatshirt. I've washed it once so far and no issues. I'm 180cm/70kg and opted for a medium and it fits me well, especially my long arms but it's definitely not a slim fit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as nice as they used to be. It's getting harder to be a fan of Rapha when the only thing that stays the same is the exorbitant cost of their products. I have earlier renditions of this sweatshirt that could meet the threshold statement - you get what you pay for, but that's not the case here. The new sweatshirt isn't as thick, nor well made. It certainly isn't worth the money. After a pair of triple digit cost riding gloves disintegrated in less than a year I was wary of future purchases. This garment has proven it's time to move on to less expensive pastures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classy style for work or play Ordered the deep purple, size L, based on how much I liked last year's version and think this one is better. The sweatshirt fits great, relatively snug but big enough to wear a button down or just a t-shirt underneath. The arm length is long enough for me that it never pulls up when reaching for something. I can wear it to for work or just out and about. With the top notch construction and great fit, I'll be able to use this for many years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sweatshirt...so what? Well that's what I thought so how can Rapha put a spin on a sweatshirt! Let's put it this way....They did! Beautiful and warm perfect for the after ride pub session, cosy and soft, ...but no good for women, not at all, don't even think about it, its mine and mine alone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect sweatshirt It's a snug but wonderful fit, I'm a 39" chest and went for an M in the end. Fabulous fabric that perfectly controls temperature, lovely design details with a handy little side pocket, perfect for a credit card. In short, I love this top!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great texture I bought this a few weeks ago and overall I'm quite happy with my purchase. The texture of the Merino Sweatshirt is quite soft, the color is amazingly deep. The cut looks awesome from the chest-shoulder region to the cuffs, although it is a tight fitting sweatshirt, and if you have one of those long weekends you might see the difference. The arm length is quite long, its not a deal breaker for me, but it would be nice to have them just a bit shorter. Overall I'm happy .... until I eat.

I normally wear size M in your jerseys. What size should I choose for the sweatshirt?

Asked by: phooi
Hi, we would recommend you choose the same size in the Merino Sweatshirt. However, this item is made for city riding and off the bike wear so it is cut more generously. If you would like a slim cut, you may wish to size down one size. As always we do have a free 90 day returns policy if needed.

Just received merino sweatshirt. Ordered a L because that's what I wear in Rapha jerseys, base layers. But it seems a size bigger. Sleeves bunch up; extra material around waist. Are sizes supposed to be comparable to jerseys, etc? How much smaller is M?

Asked by: Elliott
Hi, the Merino Sweatshirt is a casual item and does come up slightly larger than our jerseys and base layers. Some people do find a size down in this item provides a better fit.

I recently bought this sweatshirt just last week and I was wondering, what are the strips for on each cuff, they seem to be engineered into each sleeve end and was wanting to ask, great garment though, fantastic

Hi, I'm between "M" and "L" for this sweatshirt. Could someone please post exact measurements of either size when the garment is laid flat. E.g. pit-to-pit; length (collar to bottom), etc. It would really help me make my decision! Thanks!

Asked by: Ken G
Hi, the measurements for the Large Merino Sweatshirt are approximately 64 cm for collar to hem, and the measurements from pit to pit are approximately 53 cm.

What happens if you put it in the drier? Any idea how much it will shrink?

Asked by: mrwynn
Hi. The Merino wool used on the sweatshirt is a fine grade and as such will not tolerate tumble drying. The care label does advise washing at no more than 30 degrees and not to tumble dry. The sweatshirt will shrink considerably if these instructions are not adhered to.
