A new generation of Rapha’s iconic jersey, the Classic Jersey II is a highly evolved design. Cut from a proprietary merino-based fabric, it is lighter, softer and more breathable - and now available in club colours.

A classic reborn in club colours

The Classic Jersey was Rapha’s first ever product. A bold expression of the company’s mission to create the world’s best cycling apparel, it changed the industry. Predominantly black and cut from an unorthodox merino-wool-based fabric, Bicycling Magazine’s Editor Bill Strickland declared it the ‘best bike jersey the world has ever seen.’

Twelve years on Rapha introduced a new version, the Classic Jersey II, in 2015. Reimagined once more in RCC livery for 2017, the evolved design is cut from a proprietary merino-wool-based fabric, milled to Rapha’s exact specification. Called RPM150 (Rapha Performance Merino, the 150 indicates grams per square metre), it is lighter, softer and more breathable than the generic merino-blends used in the first incarnation of the Classic Jersey and is adaptable to a huge range of conditions.

The construction of the jersey has also been overhauled with a reworked fit and bonding has been used extensively to improve stretch in the seams and reduce bulk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you get just one club Jersey this could be it! In the UK Spring and Autumn are too often not separated by much, and this Jersey is ideal for those 'UK Summer' rides ie early teens. I terms of weight/weather for me it sits nicely within the space between 'Summer Jersey' and 'Brevet Jersey' although with base layer, arm warmers, cap and gillet you could wear it to Winter - kind of depends how hard the ride will be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great made greater Love the look and feel of this jersey. Just very very cool. Fit is slim, but not crazy. I love the tailored sleeves, but the hi-viz accents on the left sleeve make it somewhat rigid. Not terrible, but if you're wearing a base layer w/ sleeves, it does make it a little tougher to squeeze your arm thru.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classic RCC There are days when this is just the perfect jersey to drag out of the RCC kit drawer. Comfortable and less racy than the Pro Team RCC midweight and aero options. Probably a good choice when you want to slide modestly under the radar on that first ride with strangers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very comfortable !!! I am so glad I bought it a few weeks ago as the jersey is ideal to wear in winter over a base layer with a gilet. The fabric is extremely comfortable and feels good, the black colour looks great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great upgrade for the club jersey Massive upgrade for this jersey compared to the first gen club jersey. The fit, feel and the full zipper make it a real option for a summer day on the east coast now. I'd happily wear it in the spring/fall too with a base layer and be fine

Hi! Im a size M on the pro team aero jersey. My chest measurement is 90cm but I decided to buy one size up on the pro team aero, it was the right decision. For this classic II jersey, should I buy small? What about for the shadow jerseys?

Asked by: Luchjo
The Pro Team Jersey, as with the Shadow collection has a race fit. The Classic Jersey has a more relaxed fit and the Small size should be the appropriate size based upon the information and dimensions provided. If the garment does not meet with your suitability then you can return this to us under our 90 day returns policy.

The Proteam jersey I am wearing XL, and must downsize on CORE Jersey to L (fits well). What do you suggest for Classic II? XL or L?

Asked by: DogmaF8
For the Classic Range you should fit well into the Large.

I normally wear a size small in all rapha jerseys. Love the fit of my pro aero jerseys for example in Small. Are the classic II jerseys much roomier? Should I go XS?? 33.5 in chest.

Asked by: Eyeguy
Hi, please refer to the size guide as far as possible. With the information you have provided, we would suggest you try a XS. Should you need to exchange, we have a 90 days return period.

It looks like this jersey has a longer sleeve than the classic jersey. If so, how much longer is it?

Asked by: Patch
Hi, this jersey has exactly the same fit as the standard Classic Jersey II.
