Cycling sweatshirt cut from fine-grade merino and constructed for everyday use

For everyday style, on and off the bike, the Merino Sweatshirt has been updated and simplified with a new fabric composition and a slightly more relaxed fit.

This fine-grade merino layer is ideal for everyday riding and living in the city. Rapha uses merino in its performance wear, and its naturally breathable and odourless qualities make it equally ideal for our city collection too.

The woven shoulder and elbow patches from last year’s Merino Sweatshirt model have been removed, but the garment retains set-in sleeves, ribbed cuffs, collar and hem and flat-lock stitching. The concealed device zip pocket in the rear side seam has also been retained.

I normally wear size M in your jerseys. What size should I choose for the sweatshirt?

Asked by: phooi
Hi, we would recommend you choose the same size in the Merino Sweatshirt. However, this item is made for city riding and off the bike wear so it is cut more generously. If you would like a slim cut, you may wish to size down one size. As always we do have a free 90 day returns policy if needed.

Just received merino sweatshirt. Ordered a L because that's what I wear in Rapha jerseys, base layers. But it seems a size bigger. Sleeves bunch up; extra material around waist. Are sizes supposed to be comparable to jerseys, etc? How much smaller is M?

Asked by: ellvan
Hi, the Merino Sweatshirt is a casual item and does come up slightly larger than our jerseys and base layers. Some people do find a size down in this item provides a better fit.

Hey Rapha, I was wondering if the fit of this sweatshirt is the same as the previous sweatshirt (now I own a size S green version)?  Kind regards, Filip

I recently bought this sweatshirt just last week and I was wondering, what are the strips for on each cuff, they seem to be engineered into each sleeve end and was wanting to ask, great garment though, fantastic

Hi, I'm between "M" and "L" for this sweatshirt. Could someone please post exact measurements of either size when the garment is laid flat. E.g. pit-to-pit; length (collar to bottom), etc. It would really help me make my decision! Thanks!

Asked by: Ken G
Hi, the measurements for the Large Merino Sweatshirt are approximately 64 cm for collar to hem, and the measurements from pit to pit are approximately 53 cm.

What happens if you put it in the drier? Any idea how much it will shrink?

Asked by: mrwynn
Hi. The Merino wool used on the sweatshirt is a fine grade and as such will not tolerate tumble drying. The care label does advise washing at no more than 30 degrees and not to tumble dry. The sweatshirt will shrink considerably if these instructions are not adhered to.
