A long-sleeve layering system in a single garment

Inspired by the Rapha Brevet credo of ‘pack light, travel far’, the multi-functional Brevet Long Sleeve Windblock Jersey fuses the all-day performance of a merino jersey, with the wind-protection of a gilet.

Warm and insulating, an overlaid panel made from the fabric of the Rapha Brevet Gilet has been stitched onto the front of the jersey and the arms, doing away with the need for a windbreaker or a base layer because the panel layers over the jersey fabric. With reflective and hi-vis Brevet stripes on the front and back, and a total of five pockets, this is a versatile piece with ample storage for food and tools. Paired with its ability to be washed and dried overnight, this makes the Brevet Long Sleeve Windblock Jersey the perfect companion for multi-day adventures by bike.

FEATURES

  • Wind-resistant polyester panels stitched to front of the jersey and arms for protection on chilly descents
  • New quick-drying, lightweight merino fabric for comfort in the heat
  • Reflective and hi-vis Brevet stripes on front and back to aid visibility in low-light
  • Two zipped valuables pockets on front of jersey for storage of essentials
  • Triple rear cargo pocket for easy-access storage

FABRIC

Main body:

  • 89% merino wool
  • 11% nylon

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Machine wash 30ºC
  • Wash dark colours separately
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Do not iron
  • Do not bleach
  • Do not dry clean

Body sizing

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Early Spring (in Canada!) Jersey Bought this to transition between riding in -15C in winter and being covered in 10 layers, to riding in Spring. Rides start early and usually around 0C going up to 5C and this is perfect with a merino base and short brevet jersey underneath. Nice colour and styling and like thinner fabric on sleeves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great thermal jersey with windblocker Size a little snug, it would be nice if the cool weather gear was a little larger than the summer gear...because I'm a little larger during the cool weather months and wear a thicker baselayer. Quality of the fabrics is top notch, with classic styling that won't go out of style quickly, which is important in expensive gear (think Rolex, BMW, etc.). Very nice jersey.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket for cool days I recently got the jersey and it is awesome. It is the perfect mix of warmth but it breaths at the same time, not trapping in humidity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Spring/Autumn. Well made. Kept me warm on the cooler days. Wind proofing works a treat. Usually have Pro-Team items in Medium and had the same in this with a similar fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Swiss Army knife top! Super piece of kit. Perfect for when caught between a jacket or a jersey alone. Layer up or down as the temp dictates. The cut is perfect for my 6'2 78kg build (size m) and as ever it looks splendid. Can't fault it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A do it all jersey. Probably one of the best pices of kit I've ever bought. I'm lucky enough to live in Northumberland where we have lots of great hilly routes. The brevet windblock keeps me nice and warm on the descends but doesn't overheat you on the climbs or on the flat. just a great pice of kit.

I recently bought a Brevet Long Sleeve Windblock jersey in M but finds it quite loose. I wear a Core jersey in M which is snug. Does this wears loose or should I exchange for one size down?

Asked by: huckyfinn
The Brevet and Classic ranges are for longer distance rides and have a slightly looser and more comfortable fit in comparison to our Core and Pro Team ranges.

Hi, I have Brevet short sleeve which fits me tight but well, if I wear only base layer. Want to purchase long sleeve and plan to wear 2 layers under it. Is Brevet long sleeve a bit bigger than the one with short sleeve or not? Conisdering one size up.

Asked by: JanSuch
Hi, the fit is the same in the long and short sleeve options. In your case, it may be a good idea to size up one size. However, this may leave the jersey a bit loose if you don't wear the two layers underneath.

Hi, does this top have any level of water resistance (due to the wind block panels being similar to the brevet gilet) Thanks

Asked by: LawrenceNicholls
Hi, the front of this jersey has minimal water resistance but most water falls on your back in a riding position and the back offers no water protection.

Hi There, I'm ready to order the Brevet Long Sleeve Windblock jersey. Looking at the size guide, these are my measurements: chest 106cm / arm 66cm / back 67cm. I am in doubt whether to choose size L or XL. What is your advise?

Asked by: D194
Hi, please refer to the size guide as far as possible. With the information you have provided, we would suggest you try a Large. Should you need to exchange, we have a 90 days return period.

I'm looking to ride in temps of 20-25 F. Would the combo of Rapha Deep Winter base layer and this brevet long sleeve wind block jersey be enough to ride in that temp range?

Asked by: Dave M
Hi Dave, in those temperatures, you want an additional outer layer to combine with the Deep Winter Base Layer and Brevet Windblock Jersey, possibly a Brevet Insulated Jacket.

I have an insulated brevet gilet. Would it be overkill to pair it with this jacket?

Asked by: Yeti88
Hi, this jersey could certainly be paired with a Brevet Insulated Gilet in cold conditions.

Hi I have just purchased this jersey size large but not sure if its too big or not. Is it supposed to be snug or slightly loose I'm a large in the classic 2 which fits perfect I've got two short sleeve brevet which I've got in medium these are very snug.

Asked by: Smiffy111
Hi, there is always a degree of personal preference but all our jerseys should fit snugly. Due to the windblock lining, this jersey does come up slightly larger than other jerseys in the Brevet range.

Hi I have one of your softshell base layers, would combining this with this jersey keep me warm on all but the coldest days in the warmish but wet Devon winter?

Asked by: Jellylegs
Hi, wearing those two items together would likely keep you warm down to around 5/6 degrees celsius in the wet. You would want another base layer for days when it is not raining.
