Music on the Road IV
The style of this Playlist is a little different. The Continental guys started to hear, out the windows of the Rapha van, strange sounds coming from the towns and Camaro's around them.
"We decided that a musical scavenger hunt was more interesting than admitting that we weren't listening to anything related to the region we were riding through. It was challenging to identify songs heard from the car windows. In fact we heard nothing at all in Arizona and New Mexico because everybody had the windows up and the air-conditioning on full blast. However, once we got to Colorado people were cruising."

150 miles.
One hundred and fifty miles.
No matter how you say it or write it, 150 miles is a long day on the bike, especially with 12,000 feet of climbing attached to it.
Boise, Idaho, was the last ride of the Rapha Continental summer tour, and after riding more than 3,000 miles in the past few months, this "last" ride is both a welcomed and melancholy end. When you get into the rhythm of riding back-to-back-to-back and traveling together, it's difficult to imagine the end and a return to the realities of riding amidst the pressures of work, family and so on. I'm sure it's the same way the pros feel the last day of a Grand Tour, where that last stage is a double-edged sword— on one side relieved that the race is soon to be over and the other side wishing for it to continue to go on. Your body and mind become accustomed to the hours, the pain and the beauty, so to end is a bit of a shock.

Benjamin Ferencz is the creative behind Freeman Transport, Tom Robertson is a photographer, and Selden Daume is the manager and baker at Le Petit Outre. When the Rapha Continental van stopped at the end of Cherry St. in Missoula, MT, we were welcomed by a Spanish-style villa and these three characters. They led us promptly to the back patio where a local keg of micro brew, fresh ginger rum cocktails, a homemade spread of food, and guest Continental photographer Chris Milliman were waiting.

As cyclists most of us are familiar with the word or concept of "Epic". People often use the term to explain why a ride is inherently hard, long, beautiful or heroic. Epic is the conviction that the Rapha Continental has been built upon and it is a concept that fully manifested itself on July 25th in the mountains of Yellowstone National Park for the six of us riding that day.
Salt Lake City, UT
Blue skies, National Forest as far as the eye can see and a beautiful 25-mile descent saw us hit speeds over 50mph.

Steamboat Springs, CO
There is a place in Colorado where the bikes are made of Ti, the people are happy and the riding is truly amazing. Steamboat is the home of Moots and Jon, Rob and the rest of the crew, were incredible hosts.
