Each and every day for the past few weeks in Portland we have experienced a strange bout of weather. The days start out cool and rather grey, but by the afternoon the sun has burned everything away and is bright as all get out. This makes for interesting clothing choices as the arms and gilet have suddenly come back into fashion.

Below, is a 15 second segment of a 17 minute thought process I had as I rode with Jeremy up Saltzman, a gravel climb just outside Portland, Oregon.
I can hold this for 17mins…. easy.

Each of Dan Sharp's photos look as though they could be postcards from Ride the Rockies. While the cruising through Colorado may be over for the moment, the love for this great state need not stop. With an extra day the Rapha Continental headed out from Vail on a 90 mile cool down that took them through some of the Leadville 100 trails. Ride the Rockies may have been over, but there was just too much exploring left to do. Even with all the riding that they did, there was still time to send their own postcards back to the office here.

Thoughts on Altitude from Rapha Continental riders Joe Staples, James Selman, Steve Francisco and Ben Lieberson during their week-long assault on Colorado during Ride the Rockies.
From Joe:
Asthma is an easy thing to explain, it feels like your chest is breathing through a straw. The effects of altitude are not so easy to describe, but far easier to experience.

Two days ago we, the Rapha Continental, did 95 miles, with 10,000ft ft climbing including a single 20 mile ascent that topped out at 10,800ft. It was the second day of Ride the Rockies and we shared this amazing experience with roughly 2000 other people. That's enough stats for one day, this ride isn't about numbers, it is about meeting people and you can imagine, on a ride with that many people, you will meet a lot of them.
