Pro-grade race cape with clever functionality
The Pro Team Race Cape has been designed for high-tempo training and racing in changeable conditions. The Race Cape is made from a three-ply laminate fabric developed exclusively for Rapha. It is both lightweight and highly durable, while fully-taped seams ensure the Race Cape is completely waterpoof. The Pro Team Race Cape has a slim fit but the fabric has great stretch so the jacket will keep its shape when worn over a jersey with heavily loaded pockets.
The Race Cape’s functionality includes an open-ended YKK 'vislon' zip for easy removal at the foot of a climb or in race conditions. It also features contrast details on the neck and hem to help locate the top and bottom in a hurry. Neoprene cuffs make it easy to get gloved hands in or out quickly, and a neoprene collar has been designed to stay warm against the skin when wet. The sleeves have a reflective trim above the elbow, which is finished with a bonded seam so you can cut off the sleeves for racing in wet but warm conditions. The Race Cape folds down small enough to fit into a Pro Team Jersey pocket.
The fit:
The Race Cape has a unique cut, designed for competition conditions. It has a far closer fit than the Rapha Classic Wind Jacket or Rain Jacket, so if you plan to wear it over winter kit, we advise moving up one size from your regular Pro Team fit. Otherwise, expect a snug fit over a regular summer or lightweight jersey.
NB: We cannot accept returns on Race Capes that have had the sleeves cut.
