Portland Rouleur Exhibition

Rouleur Exhibition

Epilogue

‘First Thursday’ in Portland’s Pearl District is a night where you would expect to see a few thousand people milling throughout the streets, popping in and out of open galleries and studios filled with drink and music. But not in February, nobody expects that in February. First Thursday’s in the early winter months are dark, cold, and usually hardly considered an event. However, with the North American Hand Built Bicycle show in town for the weekend, Portland was brought out of hibernation by some of the country’s best frame artisans.

Rapha started the season early for art lovers and cyclists alike with a special showing of the Rouleur Exhibition inside the gallery of the Crane Building. Select prints from Rouleur Magazine contributors Ben Ingham, Camille McMillan, Geoff Waugh, Timm Kölln, Olaf Unverzart and Gerard Brown brought to life the stories the roads, racing and riders we love so much.

300-plus enthusiasts that came through the gallery on Thursday night were energized by the cycling buzz running throughout the city. DJ Dan Sharp spun records in the background while riders and non-riders alike enjoyed a visual celebration of cycling until well past the posted closing hours.
