Who is it for?

Reconnect with your love for the bike and exploration. Raids are designed for independent riders with a thirst for going off the beaten track, and exploring lesser-known but nonetheless spectacular destinations and roads. You’ll still have access to a Rapha guide, full mechanical and logistical support, but the emphasis is on self-sufficiency, creating an adventure through wild and unspoilt landscapes. Each night we’ll greet you with hearty food and charming, rustic accommodation, to prepare you for another day’s exploring. It is cycling taken back to the essentials: a bike, a fantastic route to ride, and the self-imposed challenges that brings.

How Hard is it?

Because of the emphasis on challenging terrain and self-sufficiency, Raids suit the more confident, athletic rider, or groups of friends who may already have done a multi-day trip and want to challenge themselves further.

Arrival Day

Flights to Oslo and self-transfer to Molde

This nights accommodation are included in your itinerary. For the more adventurous a train from Oslo to Andalsnes could begin your Norwegian experience.

Day 1

Molde - Norddal

The adventure begins today from Molde with incredible roads, fjords and the climb of Trollstigen. Enjoy the switchbacks before you reach the visitor centre at the summit. Our day finishes with a short ferry journey into Norddal and our guest house - Petrines Gjestgiveri

Day 2

Norddal - Lom

A group of RCC riders headed to Norway in the summer of 2016 - read more about the experience -

Day 3

Lom - Beitostølen

Today we cross the highlands of Norway and the Jotunheimen national park. Plenty of gravel roads today - 28c tyres at the ready!

Day 4

Beitostølen - Bjørneparken Flå

The adventure continues across mountains as we make our way south

Day 5

Bjørneparken Flå - Oslo

The final day of riding takes us to Oslo, certainly off the beaten track! We'll take the old King's Road before arriving at Sørensen Sykler, a great bike shop in Oslo, where you'll be able to shower and pack your bicycle. Rapha Travel can provide Oslo hotel recommendations but tonights accommodation is not included in your itinerary.

Can I make a group booking?

Yes – family members, colleagues or friends usually find that embarking on a group adventure makes it even more fun and rewarding. However, trip places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Raids provide a true opportunity to ride together and build a camaraderie richly rewarded.

What kind of assistance can riders expect on the road?

When you’re riding you’ll always have at least one ride guide on the road with the group. Raids are more self-sufficient than a Randonnee, so while a mechanic will be available they won't be tracing the route or offering on-road support during the day. Your guides will be able to help you out with ride food and drink, as well as local knowledge, first aid, a morale-boosting chat and – if necessary – a hand to push you up the hill if you’ve run out of energy.
