High-performance winter tights

Deep into the coldest season, these tights will keep you warm but stop you overheating thanks to a dual-fabric construction inspired by the Pro Team Jacket.

The wind-blocking DWR (durable water repellent) fabric on the front panels gives necessary protection from the elements while the breathable fabric on the rear allows sweat to be released from the back of the tights. A nifty innovation to stop you sweating in traditionally thick winter wear.

The chamois is in the same position as in the Pro Team Bib Shorts, staying stable and comfortable during even high-intensity efforts in the drops. The bib straps are constructed from a lightweight mesh, and the tights' waist is raised to offer insulation across the torso, keeping the lower back warm. Finished with bright details for visibility in low light.

‟Heading out on a couple of early morning rides with a temperature of about 2°C, my legs were toasty warm. And thanks to the breathable fabric at the back of the legs, I never experienced any overheating, even as the temperature moved up into double figures after a five-hour ride. For riding in really bad weather these tights are about the best I've ever tested.”
‟Fit is an area Rapha generally do extremely well, and these are extremely comfortable bib tights. The DWR treated material does not have a great deal of stretch, but thanks to the smart cut of the various panels there is no restriction on your freedom of movement when pedalling. The fit is good around the hips, bum and crotch area too, and the flat wide bib straps exert no undue pressure on your shoulders.” ****½

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The go to winter tights I bought a pair of these and was so impressed that I bought a second pair. These are well fitting and the legs are not too long so we don't get a bunch up behind the knees. They are very warm and make good Autumn, Winter and Spring full length tights. The fabric wears well based on my first pair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing.. Bought these after trying the Brevet ones and glad I did, these are fantastic! I've never had a pair anywhere near as good as these. Warm in the coldest of conditions, I usually wear bib shorts under winter tights to keep my man bits from freezing, but these do a cracking job on their own. The material is very similar to a fine wetsuit neoprene and is very water repellent. They make me want to go out in the cold weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great leg length with perfect fit and comfort In summer I most often wear the Pro Team bib shorts, but come winter I wear a mixture of bib tights and short bibs with leg warmers - all Rapha. Compared to the Pro Team bib shorts, these are a more relaxed cut (all size XL), with thicker fabric across the board. Temperature wise that are less warm than the Brevet Bib Tights (less internal fleece + use of different thickness fabric unlike the Brevet), but for above zero degrees temps, in Australia I think the Pro Team weight suits me better. The biggest differences to the Brevet tights is length; fit & reflective details. Length - the Pro Team are the right length in the legs. Brevet length is about 5cm longer in the same size. Fit, the Pro Team hold the pad in a more consistent position, so are more comfortable on longer rides. Reflective details - the Pro Team only has the little flaps on the back of the legs - same as the shorts. Whereas the Brevet has decent reflective details on ankles (although compromised due to excessive length causing bunching). I guess to summarise, unless you need sub-zero warmth, I'd pick the Pro Team over the Brevet tights by a fair margin.

Hi there.  Are these suitable for women. I'm looking for a pair a winter bibs & Ive noticed that you don't do these in ladies. I'm thinking an XS might be the go???

Asked by: Tlp1
The Chamois inside the male garments are not designed for the female bone structure however some women may find it comfortable depending on their anatomy.

Anyone used these in Australian (east coast) winters? Wondering it they will get too hot as winter morning rides in Sydney may start off sub-10 degrees celsius but can get up to as much as 16 degrees celsius by mid-morning/midday.

Asked by: slau1973
Hi, these tights are designed for use from 0-10/11 degrees Celsius. In temperatures above this, it would be best to wear 3/4 Bib Shorts or leg warmers.

I usually wear size XL Rapha bibs. I'm 5'8" with a 35 waist and 30" inseam. Will the XL Pro Team Winter Tights with pad be too long?

Asked by: SharpShooter
Hi, we recommend you try an x-large. They may be slightly long but could still fit well. As always, we do have a free 90 day returns policy if needed.

Hi, is there a big difference in terms of leg circumference between the XS and M sizes for these tights? I recently bought the M size, but the inside leg (32in) is a bit too long, and I would prefer the 30in inside leg, but only the XS has that inside leg

Asked by: WDD1
Hi, the leg circumference is slightly smaller but the waist will be much tighter on x-small compared to medium.

The images in the product page are different to the ones shown in the review. Which is correct? .. seems to be difference of Logo on the back; and stripes on calves?

Hi, the review you reference shows a pair of our tights from a previous season. The article was written in November 2014. I hope this helps.
