The ultimate garment for high-intensity winter riding

For riders that demand the utmost in performance from their racewear year round, the Pro Team Thermal Aerosuit is an innovative all-in-one that provides a simple solution to riding in cold weather. With three pockets on the back that sit flat when empty, it is versatile enough for both racing or simply riding fast.

An antidote to bulky winter clothing, this technical garment combines the best elements of cold-weather gear from across the Pro Team range. The top half is based on the Pro Team Jacket, with a windproof and weather-resistant shell covering the arms and front, and a breathable jersey fabric across the back. This ingenious construction both protects riders from the wind and allows for great temperature regulation, reducing the need to put on or remove gilets and jackets while riding.

The lower half of the suit is a modified version of the Pro Team Winter Tights, which also employ a combination of fabrics to protect the legs while maintaining breathability. The legs are lined with a ‘waffle print’ fabric, which has a much higher surface area than a flat-faced fabric. This greater surface area traps heat and is more efficient at wicking sweat away from the skin, preventing clamminess and unwanted cooling. The chamois is the same as in the award-winning Rapha Bib Shorts and Pro Team Bib Shorts.

The Aerosuit has three pockets, with ample space for all riding essentials, and reflective detailing to improve visibility. The low-friction zip with a thick tab is easy to use when wearing gloves, and the tailored fit gives and broad range of movement with exceptional comfort. The front of the suit has a discreet flap for nature breaks.

Reviews:

It feels almost like you're not wearing anything. But you are wearing something, and the protection from the elements is good enough to look after you on a drizzly and cold ride. The fabric keeps the wind out and it does a good job of dealing with rain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great New Piece I was hesitant to buy this as it's a lot of money and is nearly 3 pieces in one. But I'm glad I did. It's so comfortable and takes away so many layers and awkward parts of the standard layering process. Feels better when bent over on the bike. Feels a bit tight when standing upright. But that's how it should be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Throw it on and go! I love the simplicity of this piece. When it's 30 degrees in Chicago, and there's no concern for layering, this piece takes all thought out of dressing for the elements. Excellent construction. Fit runs true if you own the separate components of this as well. I've thrown on a gilet on top when its gotten down into the 20s for additional insulation. This is how you ride year-round!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Possibly the best bit of winter kit I own! Having had this for a few weeks now and riding it in some sub zero temperatures, I can safely say this is the best bit of winter kit I own. Incredibly warm and comfortable, this has been a worthwhile investment. If you can overlook the price, although it's cheaper than a combined jacket and tights, you won't be disappointed. The only downside is the lack of reflective detailing, which on an all black suit is a must.

Sizing - i am 175 cm and 65 kg. I really like a tight fitting. Can i go XS or should i stick to S? Dont' have other Rapha clothes but mostly use S in racefit clothes.

Asked by: Allout
Hi, it is hard to accurately advise on size without other measurements. This suit does have a close fit and a small is probably the correct size. We recommend you also refer to our sizing guide. As always, we do have free 90 day returns.

What are temperature range for this suit? But please no stories about "personal tolerances". Only temp range.

Asked by: Eugéne Ch
Hi, this item is suitable for very cold conditions. It can be born below 0C if worn with a Winter Base Layer. The average person could wear it up to around 10C. I also appreciate you don't want to know about personal temperature control but this will always influence the clothing people choose at any given temperature.

Is it beat Castelli Sanremo Thermosuit? I need something warm enough for 0-5C.

Asked by: Eetu
Hi, we are a little biased but we would say it is a superior product. It combines, warmth, wind and water resistance, comfort and aerodynamics into one product. You can easily wear the Pro Team Thermal Aerosuit in 0-5C. It can be worn below these temperatures if you wear a Winter Base Layer.
