Jeremy Dunn

Jeremy Dunn, the Dunner, Junn, Jogg, Jogg the Baptiste and who could ever forget, Hello Dawg, was born in Lancaster, Wisconsin 27 years ago. He now lives in Boston, Massachusetts. Not too long ago he studied film and television and, ironically enough, later worked in film and television. When that didn’t work out he left of his own volition to work at a bike shop and manage a cyclocross team, biding his time until the impending launch of his magazine, Embrocation. Which he launched over the winter. He likes the intimacy printed words and reading afford and believes stories to be the threads which hold society and people together. That said, he thinks film and video are pretty cool too.
He lives in a house outside of Inman Square with his roommate, an MIT student who also races, and all of their bikes. Their house is right next to a number of good pubs, coffee shops and Indian spots. When he’s not working at the bike shop or riding, he spends all his time working on Embrocation, collecting and creating content, securing funding, editing and losing arguments with the printer. Jeremy is inspired by Peter Rubijono. They ride together all the time and he believes Pete to be the smoothest ever.
Jeremy started riding during college when he got a job at a bike shop across town and he couldn’t rationalize taking the bus to work. From there he started riding in the woods of Wisconsin with the fierce Austin Brothers. They taught him how to camp, jump off things and, eventually, race. He sees the Continental project as a chance to show people that it is possible to go out and ride hard without having to race. He wants people to recognize that cycling has sex appeal and taste. All the while building a useful catalog of rides that contributes to the building of mythology and heritage around American riding. Jeremy has been documenting and collecting things as long as he can remember, from baseball cards, international candy wrappers, pocket knives, comic books, tattoos, bicycles and bottle openers. He’s got a thing for nostalgia and believes everything we touch retains a little bit of a memory and instantly becomes a part of something larger. He also hopes some of what he keeps might be useful again, even just a little bit.
Someday soon Jeremy would like to ride in the South, The Deep South. He loves everything about that part of the world, the food, the people, all of it.

"The first time I rode over 100 miles I got home and called everybody I knew. It was part of the Boston Brevet series, a 100k populaire, and the start, which I rode to, was 30 miles from my house. By the time I was done it was well over a hundred miles. I was so proud, it was such an accomplishment."
