Ryan Thomson
aka Evil

Ryan Thomson was born August 16, 1970 in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Inspired by the sight of Greg Lemond, who he thought was some French dude (le-maan), crushing Andy Hampsten in the 1983 Coors Classic, Ryan decided to become a cyclist. And twenty-five years later Ryan is a super fast, super smooth career Cat 3. His goal next year, if he has the energy, is to loose the twenty pounds he thinks is slowing him down – he likens the extra weight to riding with three gallons of milk in his pockets – and become a Cat 2.
Ryan was a messenger ten years ago. While a messenger he became known as Evil and it’s stuck. He’s not Evil, not even in the slightest. He folds his underwear. Though, when asked about his special talent or gift to the world he remarked, “Unwavering selfishness.” So who knows.
Ryan is an amazing fabricator and builder and fixer of things. He runs the model-building department for a local architecture firm and, in all his spare time, makes his own brand of uber rad modern furniture.

“I want to introduce folks to new rides and riding. I want to challenge. You can only do the Sauvie Island loop so many times and there are so many quality roads and rides in the world - my favorite ride, the Lakes Loop with Brown Mountain extension, just outside Ashland, Oregon. It’s 80 miles of alpine lakes, some gravel, a seven-mile, six-percent climb, maybe some snow and no brakes for a 12-mile descent to the finish. Or this section of the Alsea Falls ride, Dorena to Oakridge, that has a sweeping 200-degree right-hander, where you just let it scream and gain momentum and smile. These and more need to be shared..”
