Why the Flanders Lion? Paris Roubaix is a French event!

It's a Belgian invasion! Lion flags outweigh Tricolores 20 to 1 on the day.

Flanders, although commonly known as a region of Belgium, is historically the home 'socio-political community' of the Flemish people who spread across a geographical region which covers parts of Belgium, France, and Holland.
Over the course of history, the geographical territory that was called "Flanders" has varied but is still widely accepted to encompass the Nord-Pas-de-Calais departments of France, across which the final stages of the race course.

Turning right just after Barnet and going down camlet way/Beech Hill is ALOT safer than Wagon road and the A111. Wagon Road is a pretty nast road on a bike.

Continentals - but Fairbank will disagree. Go for 25mm but don't run them at full pressure.
