A warm, versatile and adjustable jersey for tough winter cycling

The Rapha Winter Windproof Jersey offers a comfortable balance of insulation, windproofing and breathability. Designed for cold to freezing conditions, the jersey is cut from a soft, warm, heavyweight, merino-rich fabric and has windproof panels in the chest. Zipped vents below the arms help to regulate temperature and the back panel has a soft mesh for improved moisture transfer.

Reflective logo detailing on the centre back provides increased visibility for cycling in low light. Three rear pockets and a horizontal ballast pocket give plenty of space for spare clothing, food and essentials on long winter rides, and a discreet, zipped valuables pocket provides further secure storage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeds expectations Bought to replace a worn winter jacket. When I tried it on knew it was a quality product. Fit is perfect for me; XL fits me across the shoulders, chest and arms with good length front and back - I'm 6'3" & 14 stone. It's more than a jersey, it's thicker like a jacket with decent storage pockets. First proper winter ride last weekend was 0 deg C and it worked perfectly; wIcked away moisture, and didn't get cold - actually opened the vents to cool down at points on the ride. Haven't had it out in the wet yet; with the type of material I'm keen to see how it fares. For sure it bosses the cold.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Winter Jersey Been on 2 rides so far with just a mesh base layer in temperatures between 5 and 12C. On the cooler ride I was really comfortable and when it warmed up a bit there are 2 vents either side of the chest which were easy to open and close with gloves on. I also really like the pocket options with a large zip across the back to pack away my waterproof, leaving 2 large pockets for food etc and there is also a small zip pocket for keys/valuables. Definitely going to be my go to jersey/jacket for the winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice-looking jersey I bought this a few weeks ago principally for commuting to work, but also for longer weekend rides. It's the first piece of Rapha kit I've had, and is as well-made and smart as I'd expected. It is flatteringly cut, the black version is far more stylish than any other cycling jerseys or jackets I have, and it is certainly warm. However, it is pretty small. I'm 5 foot 10" with a 32" waist and initially bought the medium jersey, since all the cycling and running gear I have is medium, but I couldn't even do the zip up with just a base layer underneath. I swapped it for a large jersey and that is fine - a snug fit and not at all loose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jacket not a jersey. Bring on the winter! Bought this in preparation for the UK winter, which hasn't quite arrived yet in October, but already I can say this is going to be a great product. Importantly for those looking at purchasing this (or a new winter jacket) I think the jersey labeling is a bit misleading - this product has the feel of a jacket and will easily go over bib shorts, base layer and a standard jersey (I've tried, and am an XL btw)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit Very good fit for me and comfortable. Arms are slightly long but not an issue as i can fold in the cuffs abit and that doesn't look weird. Nice and comfortable and feels warm as the weather is getting a little bit colder now. Always happy with my purchases and this is no different. Would have been nice to have the logo on the collars, maybe pink. Also pink piping on the bottom of the top. I like the pink. :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Luxury Winter Jersey Worn once so far and it worked well on a gentle ride at below 5 degC coupled with a medium weight long sleeve base layer. Fabric has a heavy luxurious feel, accentuated by the colour, slightly fleecy inner lining and glossy finish. Fit (medium, 5ft 9", 70kg) is slightly closer than I anticipated. It feels a bit tighter across the shoulders than my Brevet jersey but this could be due to the weight of the material (or is perhaps something to do with the windproof liner) but once on the bike it felt fine. Overall I'm very happy with the item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seriously thick winter garment First impression is this a really warm winter jersey. Unfortunately I haven't worn it outside yet because the medium is just too tight. I'm 5'11, 74kg and I'm a medium in Rapha in absolutely everything. Even the Pro Team range, albeit at a push. I've measured against my normal jersey and they measure up the same, the difference being that the insulation/windproofing material makes it very tight, to the point where it restricts your movement. I will be returning for the larger size as the quality and features promises to the only dry, winter jersey (jacket) you'll ever need!?!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really warm and stylish winter jersey I have worn this at about 5 degrees celsius on early morning rides in the UK this autumn. I had a Rapha long sleeve merino base layer underneath and I was totally comfortable ion the conditions. I think you could easily wear this at temperatures of around freezing. It isn't waterproof so you will need to bear this in mind if thats what you need, but for dry cold days this is perfect. I wouldn't recommend it for temperatures above 10C / 50F as you would possibly get too hot, although there are zippable vents at the front to provide some cooling for changeable conditions.

Is the windproofing more significant than the previous winter jersey, I find my previous jersey great but need a gillet when it's windy

Asked by: Jamesk
Hi, the windproofing is more significant than the previous winter jersey, and the fabric a slightly heavier weight.

What are the intended base layers for this to be worn with? Would the Merino Base Layer be sufficient at zero degrees?

Asked by: Scott Bolton
Hi, this jersey could be worn with any of our base layers, acting to extend the temperature range in which you could wear the jersey. It will always depend on your own temperature regulation and exertion level but a regular Long Sleeve Merino Base Layer should work well at zero degrees celsius.

What is better for 20-30F rides? Pro Team Training Jacket or this one? I'm 5'11 and 155 lb, I guess M would fit me?

Asked by: Gerdvd
Hi, for these temperatures you would be better with the Winter Windproof Jersey. The Pro Team Training Jacket is fantastic but would likely be too cold below 25F. A medium may work well but It is difficult to accurately advise size without measurements. It would be best to refer to the sizing guide.

This jersey in black/medium appears to be tighter and a bit uncomfortable than the one i had in purple/medium which was excellent in terms of fit. Is there any difference at all in size among the jerseys with different color?

Asked by: limbu
Hi, there should be no difference in fit for different colours of the same jersey.

Does the wind proofing go down the arms to?

Asked by: cyclingranger1
Hi, the jersey has an inside layer of windproof fabric on the centre front body panels. There is no additional wind proof layer on the sleeves.
