Winter gloves for cold-weather cycling

The Rapha Winter Gloves are a slim-fitting, insulating, water-resistant glove with a Durable Water Repellent coating.

The new cuff design eliminates the need for a velcro strap. Allowing for a low-profile cuff that fits easily under jacket sleeves. The palm, thumb, middle and index fingers are reinforced with Pittards goatskin leather and the palms use high-density foam padding. The inner uses a brushed polyester liner for soft, fleece-like insulation, which works with the breathable outer for maximum comfort. The thumb also features a brushed fabric sweat/nose wipe.

Please note: If washing these gloves, once dried, leather glove balm should be applied to the leather palms to keep them supple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfy, warm and stylish Perfect for 35F to 50F and I can wear shells over them for colder temps. I got the Red-orange, which is highly visible and stylish as well. True to size. XL fits my big hands, unlike many other brands, and the finger length is good for all my fingers. No inside seams to abrade hands or finger tips. Perfect thickness and placement of palm pads for comfort on longer rides. Back of thumb areas soft and absorbent for wiping sweat from forehead/face. Finger tips work with iPhone screen. Only negative is that lack of cuff closure makes mid-ride removal and putting on difficult when they are wet from sweat or rain. New favorite fall/winter gloves!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable, warm and stylish Bought these recently and have worn them a few times now.....they are great to about 2 or 3 degrees celsius....lower than that and the deep winter glove would suit better....great feel on the bike and very compact....happy with the purchase

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and comfortable I used these on a four hour ride where the temp was 0 - 5 degrees celsius and my hands were warm the whole time so I am very happy with the gloves; they are better than others I have tried. They are very comfortable and not restrictive.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Well made, very nice gloves for the SUMMER only Very impressed when first wearing them, but after an hour in 4 degrees my finger tips were frozen. I warmed them up and put the lovely thermal liners on but after another hour I had to change to warmer gloves as I could not stand the pain anymore. I had only persevered as I wanted to give them a proper test. Even starting out with liners in made no difference. Probably very nice in the SUMMER though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good fit once you get them on Always on the look out for new gloves, I have several pairs of other brands as well as Rapha. These feel great and are good to about 40F/ 3C. The challenge is the hem at the cuff does not have much elasticity and can be challenging to get on. The medium size is otherwise spot on. Once you have them on you will want to leave them on. They do work well with a variety of touchscreens - Garmin, iPhone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good cold weather glove Good fit, and really good between -10 celsius and 0. (I am not riding if it's colder than -10.) If it's warmer than 0 celsius, I find these gloves too warm for me. Would be good to have these and a lighter pair of windproof gloves as a combo for fall riding.

The description says Pittards leather palm but these appear to be suede in the shops. Are the new ones still padded to the same degree as the previous leather version?

Asked by: Stormgod
Hi, the new design of these gloves do use a soft leather to improve durability. They are still padded to the same degree.

Hi, this new version of the gloves (2016) seems to use suede or a similar material for the palms, not normal leather like the previous version — I was wondering if they work on smartphone screens? Thank you.

Asked by: iancu
Hi, the new version of these gloves do work with smartphone screens.

There are different size gloves, but the sizing description says "one size fits all." Looking to get the right size for my husband who has average size hands, weighs 155lbs, 5'9". Thanks for any info you may have

Asked by: Jenny5280
Hi, under the 'Product Details' tab there is a sizing guide, which you can use to accurately gauge the correct size. If these are a present, and you think your husband has average sized hands, we would recommend you choose the medium gloves.
